Loch Brandy is a classic mountain corrie above Glen Clova on the southside of the Cairngorms National Park. I wanted to get the sun on the corrie side so I had to set off up the hills at 6 this morning to get there im time for the sunrise.

The waits to board the largest ships at the Tall Ship Celebration in Bay City, Michigan, on Sunday were an hour or more, so I opted to take photos from the shore. I was glad that I brought my wide angle zoom lens with me for this 11-mm shot of the ship known as the Flagship Niagara. I rather like the wide-angle distortion.

Point Abino Lighthouse
Keeping a proud watch over Lake Erie, the Point Abino Lighthouse is one of the greatest of its kind in Canada.
Built in 1917-1918, the lighthouse and keeper’s dwelling are a local, provincial, and federal landmark with a unique history. This light station was one of 40 built during the last period of manned lighthouse construction.
Preservations want this 'keeper's dwelling' for the historic Point Abino Lighthouse kept in public hands.
At the end of Point Abino, a large rocky shelf projects into the lake making it necessary to build the lighthouse at a considerable distance from the shoreline. In stormy weather and at high-water periods, the lighthouse was inaccessible on foot. For that reason, the keeper’s dwelling required a site on the adjoining shore.
Downtown Dallas’ 72-story-tall Bank of America Plaza is reflected in the windows of the adjacent Texas Club building.
Sand guard is an artwork with an area of 20 by 40 meters and a height of 12 meters. In the vicinity is an iconic object.

Stratford is a city on the Avon River in Perth County in southwestern Ontario, Canada, with a population of 30,886[1] as of 2011.
When the area was first settled by Europeans in 1832, the townsite and the river were named after Stratford-upon-Avon, England. It is the seat of Perth County. Stratford was incorporated as a town in 1859 and as a city in 1886.[4] The first mayor was John Corry Wilson Daly and the current mayor is Dan Mathieson. The swan has become a symbol of the city. Each year twenty-four white swans are released into the Avon River. The town is well known for being the home of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.

La miniera di salgemma di Realmonte si trova a Realmonte in provincia di Agrigento in contrada Scavuzzo. Insieme alla miniera di Racalmuto e a quella di Petralia Soprana (provincia di Palermo) è una delle tre miniere siciliane di salgemma ancora attive. A Racalmuto e Petralia il prodotto viene anche confezionato. La miniera, così come le altre due, è in concessione alla società Italkali, e si estende nel sottosuolo dei territori di Siculiana e Raffadali.
La miniera in attività è nota, oltre che per la produzione di salgemma e kainite, tra le migliori al mondo per qualità minerale, anche per la presenza nel sottosuolo di una cattedrale di sale scolpita nel salgemma delle pareti della miniera. Il 4 dicembre di ogni anno per la festa di Santa Barbara viene svolta una pubblica messa alla presenza delle autorità.

Al suo interno è stata ricavata una chiesa, denominata la "Cattedrale di Sale", dove sono stati ricavati scolpendo la roccia statue e suppellettili. In particolare, si trovano le seguenti opere: la mensa, scolpita su un grosso blocco di sale, dove è raffigurato l'agnello, posta su un presbiterio sopraelevato di quattro gradini; l'ambone, anch'esso scolpito su un blocco di sale, dove si notano una croce ed il cero pasquale; la cattedra vescovile, una sorta di trono scolpita nella parete, sovrastata dall'emblema vescovile; dietro la mensa è stato ricavata una sorta di abside sulla cui parete di chiusura è stata scolpita in bassorilievo la figura di Santa Barbara; sulla parete di destra troviamo il bassorilievo raffigurante la "Sacra Famiglia", mentre sulla parete di sinistra il bassorilievo di Gesù Crocifisso. L'ingresso della chiesa è inquadrato da due acquasantiere munite di podio, entrambe ricavate da blocchi di sale.

Pelicans inhabit lakes, rivers, and seacoasts in many parts of the world. With some species reaching a length of 70 inches. Pelicans eat fish, which they catch by using the extensible throat pouch as a net. This brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis), captures fish by a spectacular plunge from the air, but other species swim in formation, driving small schools of fish into shallow water where they are scooped up by the birds.
