Swallowtail - caterpillar on her food plant (burnet) against the setting sun in the haze on a high-altitude meadow.
The light for the caterpillar comes from a reflector and a modest use of LED lamp.

From the beach at Cala Ostina, with Castelsardo in the distance
Yet again, the light conditions were not great, the sunset was far too hazy and washed out for my liking, I waited for 1/2 hrs and eventually some faint pink hues appeared on the horizon and created the opportunity for this shot; not ideal but that's just my luck!

The tiny town of Beilstein (or perhaps we ought to call it a village - in 2019 the place had 124 inhabitants), dating back to around 800, with its big Baroque church St. Josef. The church was built as a church for the Carmelites, at around 1700. Later the church was turned over into a parish church. The castle was destroyed by French troops in 1689 and turned to ruins.
And the river Moselle (in German - and Swedish - Mosel) in the foreground.
Early bird gets the worm. Early morning fishing.
Once again thank you very much for visits, favorite and comments. It's much appreciated.

I take pictures because I like it, not because I am good at it.

St. Anne's Church (local name Annakirche) in Augsburg was built in 1321 as part of a Carmelite monastery.
After the protestants invented themself, it became one of the first protestant (Lutheran) churches in 1548.
And no, Augsburg is no longer part of a Roman province, this is just this stupid location database causing a 2000-year time shift.

While looking up windy quotes, this one felt good to me, & when I read who wrote it..I had to laugh, thinking of his version of the quote...soaring through the sky on his motorcycle :)

Floris was put to sleep by the vet. 16 years old. He could not go on like this. He lost a lot of weight and strength and the inflamation of his nose got worser and worser .This was caused by a polyp in the nose against the eye socket that couldnot be operated. The antibiotics didnot work anymore. There was no longer any prospect of improvement.
The inflammation had become very bad. He was on painkillers the last two month.
De dierenarts heeft Floris laten inslapen. Net 16 jaar oud.
