I set off at 5am on a 3 hour drive to get the sunrise on Buachaille Etive Mor (the mountain in the background). The weather forecast had said it would be clear at first with rain moving in later. You can see from the sky that was not quite the case when I got there. It's not the photo I wanted and I've had to tweak this a lot but I wanted to post some outcome for my day!!

No, this was not taken at night but in the middle of the afternoon.
I couldn't believe the depth of moss etc., all over the branches of the trees in this valley bottom. Like giant sponge fingers....they can support gardens of ferns too......truly beautiful....Handheld, Zeiss ExoLens, remote, cropped & Snapseed on iPhone.

When driving Alberta's stunning Icefields Parkway one must stop at iconic Peyto Lake.
This "dog headed" lake is glacially fed by the Peyto Glacier, which provides the rock flour that creates these striking blue/teal tones.

I was up in Perthshire this morning and these trees caught my eye - the colours were absolutely stunning.
It was a nice day for photography, and fishing. You can see a guy in waders and a small fishing boat on the other side of the river.

"Along the wintry skyline,
Crowning the rocky crest,
Stands the bare screen of hardwood trees
Against the saffron west, —
Its gray and purple network
Of branching tracery
Outspread upon the lucent air,
Like weed within the sea."

The Kaiserkapelle is a prime example of romanesque architecture and also one of the most complete such structures. Built in the 13th century, part of Nuremberg Castle.
The chapel is a so-called "double chapel". This is the upper level, reserved for the emperor. The hole right in front connects this level to the lower level, for "ordinary" people, so they could enjoy mass together with the emperor.
Consequently the upper level is only accessible from the inside of the castle's palace, while the lower level only has an entrance from the outside of the palace.
