Temple of Debod was originally erected 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of Aswan[2] in Upper Egypt. In 1960, due to the construction of the Aswan Dam, the temple was donated to Spain and reconstructed in Madrid.

Many thanks to pat.bluey and Georgios Efthymiadis for identifying the plant!

Found in the Schlosspark Schleißheim. The park is one of few preserved Baroque gardens in Germany, the concept and basic structure was designed by Enrico Zuccalli - though I have a gut feeling that this plant was not planned by Zucalli.

As the German name is Kaiserkrone (= Crown Imperial) this might be some tongue-in-cheek planting by the responsible gardener, because the entire palace complex was ordered to be built by the Elector of Bavaria, Maximilian II Emanuel, who expected to become emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and therefore felt the need for a representative new residence.

Unfortunately Maximilian II Emanuel never became the emperor... - but now he finally got a "crown"...

I have been sitting on this shot for a couple of months. Usually, when I go to take night photos, I take a few "throw-aways" at the beginning just to make sure the camera's settings are correct. However, I kind of liked how this one came out so...here it is.

MYANMAR, Burma - Ballonfahrt früh morgens über das historische Bagan,

This view from the northern Linderspitze at 2372m goes straight into Austria.

The Austrian/German borderline is actually about 5m below the point I was standing, though not particularly marked.

A beautiful morning in the Derbyshire peak district with great friend Jon Sargisson this morning, although it seemed we were never quite in the right place at the right time, we did manage to capture some wonderful moody shots at Chatsworth, the mist never let us see the majestic house but it did provide the atmosphere y the river Derwent

The sunset catches the mountain tops on the Buoir Peninsula, Iceland.

This church was built from 1735 to 1750 to replace an older building that partly collapsed. Rudolzhofen is a tiny hamlet in Dachau county, first mentioned in 1158.

This is what happens doing a long exposition on a cloudy sky at 2000mt OSL. The place looks like Iceland or a similar place but it is Italy, on the Valley of the "Piccolo Sanbernardo". Looks strange enough?

The lamp posts in Venice always drew my attention. The stret lights we have here in california are functional, but lack personality! Funny how we are always drawn to the beauty of something different when we travel.

With the Carolina park to the left, the Botanical gardens to the right (on the other side of the wall) and Uppsala castle in the distance straight ahead.

And yes, I am standing in the middle of the street. But the traffic at that time of night was easy to keep track of (because it's never worth getting run over, no matter the motif).

This is a different perspective to the awesome photo that Wanda posted earlier today. No more need to be dazed and confused! www.flickr.com/photos/wandavella/25235842935/in/dateposted/ HWW!
