I was up in Perthshire this morning and these trees caught my eye - the colours were absolutely stunning.

This fire reached 5 miles from our house before it ended. There have been over 1400 fires burning in our state this year with over 44,000 acres in flames. Total acres burned in the south amounted to more than 300,000 acres. Unfortunately, many of these fires were a result of arson as was the case recently in Gatlinburg, TN. It ravaged the mountains and quickly engulfed parts of the city when winds gusting over 80 mph spread the fires. The firestorm covered more than 17,000 acres, killing 14 people, displacing more than 14,000 residents and visitors, and destroying or damaging 2,460 homes and businesses. Our prayers are with everyone involved!

J'ai retrouvé dans cette forêt, la magie des hivers de mon enfance. La neige, le givre, le soleil, le silence, un renard qui file entre les arbres. Cette balade dans un décor de rêve m'a réconciliée avec le froid, la neige, l'hiver ! Comme un sentiment enfoui depuis longtemps qui refait surface. Je retrouve une harmonie et une légèreté, la plénitude de ce qui fait que la vie, c'est ici et maintenant. Demain, on verra bien !

View from the crest of the Wiehengebirge in Southern direction. October waved goodby with sunshine and warm tempereratures and we used the perfect weather for an extended hiking tour on the Wittedindsweg, a crest trail on the Wiehengebirge from Porta Westfalica in the East to the Osnabrück area in the West. Before the sun went down we visited the most interesting spots of the Eastern part of the trail.
I want to thank all my contacts on Flickr for all the beautiful photos of you over the past year, and for the nice comments on my posted photos, thank you and much appreciated.

A sculpture of 15 wild horses has crowned a barren Central Washington hillside for more nearly two decades, but the rusted sheets of steel still are an inspiring sight to travelers along busy I- 90.
The 200-foot line of life-size charging horses, the creation of David Govedare of Chewelah, Wash., captures a mystical spirit from a time when real wild horses roamed the steppes.
Titled "Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies," the scene symbolically re-creates the Great Spirit turning loose a herd of wild horses above the Columbia River's Wanapum Lake.

A long exposure, landscape image of Heather growing on the cliff tops of Portknockie in Morayshire, Scotland.
Construido en el s.XIII, el Ponte da Ramallosa consta de diez arcos con doble sistema de tajamares para combatir la fuerza del rio y las mareas, ya que está directamente en el Estuario da Foz, por el que remonta el agua de mar río arriba.
En medio tiene un crucero de San Telmo y un Peto de ánimas.
Por él pasa el Camino de Santiago Portugués y es límite entre los ayuntamientos de Baiona y Nigrán.
No hace muchos años aún se celebraban en este puente Bautismos Prenatales, como de hecho en muchos otros puentes gallegos románicos......podeis saber más sobre este curioso tema, en un trabajo que hice hace ya años, en el 2010 :
