This is the concert hall and conference centre in Reykjavik. It was opened in 2011.
I've read a few different stories about its design, but I like the one that says it is meant to look like the scales of a fish. In this shot it looks like some of the lights are out in the windows, it is actulaly just the angle the light has been caught at, just like the scales of a fish.
The round Malefizturm is a 34 m tall former prison tower. The oldest parts of the round tower date to the late 14th century, the upper parts are early 16th century.

The BMW Welt (English: BMW World) is the combined exhibition, event and delivery center of BMW.
Located in the Milbertshofen-Am Hart district next to the BMW Vierzylinder (corporate HQ), it was built from 2003 to 2007.

Ramla Bay Gozo is situated at the bottom of the valley in the north of Gozo beneath the villages of Xaghra and Nadur. You can reach it through the main road of Nadur.
It is the biggest sandy beach in Gozo and its unique reddish/golden coloured sand together with its surrounding features makes it stand apart from all the other beaches in Malta and Gozo.

The sky around the Kelpies was mostly cloudy, but was clearer further east, so the sunrise created this colourful backdrop for me.
The famous St. Michael de Rupe Church, Brentor, West Devon which sits on top of a granite Tor on the western edge of Dartmoor.
I've been meaning to get a shot of this landmark for over two years now and finally managed it despite the icy wind nearly blowing me over!!

I'm not sure what kind of birds these juveniles are, seen at the Detroit Zoo last month, but the little one here seemed mighty feisty and was picking lots of fights.

A rhinoceros made up from plastic toys. Spotted on Christmas 2014 in the IAPM shopping mall on Shanghai's Huaihai Road.
And sorry, due to flickr's inability to properly save local language tags since late Sept. 2022 and no fix in sight (no UTF-8 support in tags, it appears only characters from the stone-age "Code Page 437" work correctly), the tags are incomplete - I had to omit some tags, because the 场 character in IAPM广场 and 上海环贸广场 causes flickr's tag parser to create gibberish in all following tags.
The "Nanshi Qu" assigned by flickr as location name is also wrong, a long standing issue with flickr's trashy location database.

A building on the market square (Marktplatz) in the town of Grafing bei München.

This little palace belongs to the Schleißheim palace complex. It was built in 1684 for the wedding of Kurfürst Max Emanuel with the Austrian princess Maria Antonia.
