Interior of the Frauenkirche cathedral, a Munich landmark. The official name of this late Gothic cathedral is "Dom zu Unserer Lieben Frau".
This is another wide view of the ceiling with the Gothic rib vault and the supporting columns. Construction of the current building started Feb. 9th 1468 and already in 1488 the building was nearly completed - which is a surprisingly short time for a Gothic cathedral.

In the countryside, silence is never silent: there is always a chirping of cicadas, a chirping of birds, a flutter of wings, the buzz of an insect, a lightning rustle in the grass, the hiccups of a drop of water. Yet there is no more beautiful silence.

I have been sitting on this shot for a couple of months. Usually, when I go to take night photos, I take a few "throw-aways" at the beginning just to make sure the camera's settings are correct. However, I kind of liked how this one came out so...here it is.
Two trains moving in the subway station Obersendling of Munich's U3 line. The train on the right is just leaving, the train on the left is just arriving.

Great Grey Owl. This large owl of the upper northern hemisphere is a perfect example of a raptor that primarily uses hearing to find prey. The huge facial disc on the great grey owl gathers sound like a giant ear, enabling them to hear the scratching and scurrying of lemmings under fallen snow.
Annual Review 2016 March
With this series I'm placing one picture from each month of 2016,
which has a special meaning or memory for me.
This photo chosen because almost after a winter season without snow or ice, it was suddenly white and wintry weather in March.
Jaar overzicht 2016 Maart
Thanks for your visit and comments, I appreciate that very much!

The ceiling frescoes in the Freising cathedral.
The cathedral of Freising was built in Romanesque style from 1159 to 1205. First change to the interior was the replacement of the flat Romanesque wooden ceiling by a Gothic vault ceiling during 1481 to 1483. In a further change during the Baroque period the Gothic vault ribs were removed, the final change was the Rococo decoration created around 1724 by the brothers Cosmas Damian Asam and Egid Quirin Asam.

The Palace of the Parliament, seat of the Parliament of Romania, the second largest administrative building in the world after The Pentagon in the United States, built in the eighties of the 20th century under Nicolae Causescu's regime. In terms of weight, the Palace of the Parliament is the heaviest building in the world.
The Propylaea on the west end of the Königsplatz is a city gate erected in the style of a Greek temple entrance (Προπύλαια), especially the one of the Acropolis in Athens.
The gate was created as a memorial for the accession to the throne of Otto of Greece, a son of the principal King Ludwig I of Bavaria.
Here is the same building as the centerpiece of a 360° panorama.

The Ibn Battuta Mall is a large shopping mall on the Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. Having more than 270 shops, 50 restaurants, a 21-screen cinema and over 4,500 parking spaces on a total of 521,000 square meters, Ibn Battuta is the world’s largest themed shopping mall.
It consists of six courts, each of whose designs are inspired by some of the countries visited by the great Moroccan Berber explorer, Ibn Battuta:
Egypt Court
