The eastern basin of the Ismaninger Speichersee.
The Ismaninger Speichersee is a reservoir in the north of Munich, built in 1929 to regulate the water flow for the run-of-the-river power plants along the Isar Canal.
The reservoir and the adjacent fish ponds are a nature reserve (Europareservat) and an Important Bird Area (IBA).

The Bayerisches Nationaltheater is a Neoclassicistic building located at the Max-Joseph-Platz square in the center of Munich, beside the royal residence (Residenz).
The present building is the result of several reconstructions, the latest was finished in 1963 to repair the damages caused by an allied air raid in the night of 3rd October 1943.

A Johanneskirche Stuttgart ou igreja de São João é referida na literatura germânica como o edifício religiosa mais importante do século XIX em Estugarda. A igreja neogótica é a primeira igreja nova na cidade depois da Reforma, sendo que originalmente a sua torre tinha bastante mais altura.
O chamado Lago de Fogo, no centro de Estugarda, remonta ao século XVIII e foi construído originalmente como um reservatório de água para abastecer a cidade. Atualmente, o lago é muito conhecido pela sua variedade de peixes. Uma vez que a população de peixes no lago de fogo é tão grande e diversifica, de dois em dois anos, o peixe é totalmente pescado para ser distribuído nos diferentes lagos e parques em volta da cidade.
Uma das principais atrações do lago de fogo é a Igreja Protestante de São João, que foi construída em estilo neogótico, na segunda metade do século XIX. A igreja está localizada numa península do lago, e é atualmente, um dos destinos preferidos de muitos turistas. Durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial, a igreja ficou bastante danificada, sendo totalmente reconstruída após o final da guerra, a torre em ruínas, ficaria inacabada. Assim, esta belíssima igreja do Lago de Fogo é agora utilizada como um memorial contra qualquer tipo de guerra, sendo muitas vezes referida como uma "a igreja sem ponta".
No século XIX, o lago de fogo foi enriquecido com uma outra linda atração, a grande fonte. Trata-se de uma das fontes mais poderosas do seu tempo, que atraiu inúmeros visitantes ao longo de muitos anos e, ainda hoje, fascina aqueles que a visitam. Este é um pequeno exemplo daquilo que podemos encontrar nesta bela cidade.
A historia do Cisne na fotografia, já é mais difícil de contar, visto não existirem referências da sua existência em lado nenhum, no entanto, eu atrever-me-ia a dizer que se trata da beleza lá do sítio, pois não se mostrou nada importunado com a minha aproximação, chegando mesmo a fazer pose e a desfilar para a fotografia, o que me leva a crer, que se trata de um manequim muito experiente e cheio de estilo que encontrou no lago de fogo a sua passerelle e o local ideal para se dar a conhecer.

Dawn arrives at the Valdez marina. I can still smell the ocean/fishing odors and the various sounds of the boats and crews getting ready for another day of world-class fishing. I was very impressed with the beauty and character of Valdez.

I drove past this scene last week and thought the contrasting crop colours would make for an interesting composition. I actually went out to shoot it at sunset on Friday, but the sun was not illuminating the scene as I wanted it. So it was an early rise this morning (5.15 am!!!) to get this with the sun just adding that golden tinge that I wanted.
Der See mit einer Nord-Süd-Ausdehnung von circa 22 km und einer Ost-West-Ausdehnung von maximal 10 km liegt auf 875 m über dem Meeresspiegel. Mit seiner Oberfläche von durchschnittlich 12.000 Hektar ist er nach dem Indawgyi-See der zweitgrößte See Myanmars.
Die 17 Dörfer innerhalb des Sees und am Seeufer sind überwiegend von Intha bewohnt. Die Häuser sind auf Pfählen gebaut. Insgesamt wohnen hier 70.000 Menschen.Die Fortbewegung in den schmalen Kanälen der Ortschaften, auf den Feldern sowie in Ufernähe erfolgt in schmalen Kanus. Typisch für den See ist die hier angewendete Bein-Rudertechnik. Der Rudernde steht am Heck des Bootes. Werden die Hände beispielsweise beim Fischen benötigt, so wird ausschließlich mit dem Bein gerudert, indem das Ruder mit dem Bein eingeklemmt wird. Für große Strecken auf dem See sind heute jedoch nur die größeren Boote mit Außenbordmotor erlaubt.

Swallowtail - caterpillar on her food plant (burnet) against the setting sun in the haze on a high-altitude meadow.
The light for the caterpillar comes from a reflector and a modest use of LED lamp.
Schwalbenschwanz - Raupe an ihrer Futterpflanze (Bibernelle) gegen die im Dunst untergehende Sonne auf einer hoch gelegenen Wiese.
Das Licht für die Raupe stammt von einem Reflektor und einer dezent eingesetzten LED Lampe.

A more close-up view of the apse and altar in the Theatinerkirche church.
The official name of this church is "Stiftskirche St. Kajetan", it is the church of the catholic Theatines order (Latin name Ordo Clericorum Regularium). The church was build from 1663 to 1690 in late baroque style.

The fountains at the Schleißheim palace.
Schleißheim Palace was built 1701-1704 by Enrico Zuccalli for the Elector of Bavaria, Maximilian II Emanuel, who expected to become emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and therefore needed a representative new residence.
Unfortunately Maximilian II Emanuel never became the emperor...

Revisited. The subway station "Westfriedhof" (Western Cemetery) on the border between the districts of Moosach and Neuhausen-Nymphenburg, along lines U1/U7.
Pretty popular photo location for obvious reasons...
The blue walls (remainders of the slurry wall that was used during construction) and the 11 huge lamps of 3.80 m diameter each give a very special atmosphere. The lamps do have yellow, red and blue lights, so each section has a slightly different atmosphere.

The paddle wheel steamer "Italia" moored at the Piazza Catena.
"Italia" was built in 1908 and had her maiden voyage on Lake Garda in 1909. Originally powered by a compound steam engine, she is now equipped with two 12-cylinder diesel engines.
She is the only ship on Lake Garda that was commissioned before World War One.
