This image started out as a summery green forest scene, but was transformed to a painterly autumn look through the magic of Topaz Impression. Done for Sliders Sunday.

Taken at First Vermilion Lake in Banff National Park. This is probably the most photographed spot in the park.

Mt. Wilbur is just one of the iconic peaks in Glacier Park's Many Glacier area. It rises 4500 feet above Swiftcurrent Lake. The Ptarmigan Wall forms a rugged steep narrow ridge to it's NE. Also known as the Pinnacle Wall by some.

Iceberg Lake is in the corner junction where the Wall meets Wilbur. A highly recommended hike. Some pics of this pretty lake in comments.

Thanks for a taking a look!

What amazing light I saw this evening as we finished up work for the day and off I went to walk about and take in the sights. Couple of Dutch Botters sitting in the harbor caught my eye. One of those images that I can't decide between B&W or Color, happening a bit more lately.

Once again thank you very much for visits, favorite and comments. It's much appreciated.

Shot with the Olympus E-M1 atop Whites Road in Wilmington, Vermont. The colors this year, especially the reds, are just spectacular. This scene is where Mt. Haystack meets Mt. Snow.

This is the final image of the series. It is my favourite. Doesn't it look like a painting in the style of abstract impressionism?

A late summer evening on the beach at Luskentyre, on the Isle of Harris, in the Western Isles of Scotland. The setting sun is reflected back in to the clouds above the hills of North Harris giving this apocalyptic-like view.

I enjoy finding old homesteads like this one that seem to be built in the middle of nowhere. This is just east of Hanna, Alberta, Canada .

Early morning in Wittlich Valley often very beautiful lighting effects at the time of sunrise, as fog or mist filters the light of the rising sun (may,24, 2012, 5:30 am).

Castle 'Rentweinsdorf' or rather: the lovely Maple tree in front of it.

Rentweinsdorf is a Commune in the administrative district "Haßberge".

I have visited the like named Nature Park "Haßberge Hills" whose extensive mixed forest is criss-crossed by numerous footpaths.

Wonderful to hike there in autumn !

The region is unusually rich in historic castles and palaces, of which over 40 survive either as ruins or are still lived in. Several once heavily fortified towns at the edge of the range still have historic centres.

Goldener Herbst in Unterfranken

Thank you for your kind visits and your comments :-)

I have photographed the moon. I however noticed that there are a lot of beautiful photos on this topic. So I've set it to process this.

The moon I have photographed with the Nikon D80 and a telephoto 70-300.

For this shot, I wedged the stem of a fallen maple leaf into a ventilation grate in a remote corner of Chicago's Millennium Park. I then laid down on the grate and snapped away into the backlight with my telephoto. I was glad the grate didn't collapse since beneath it was an underground railroad yard with moving trains :)
