La Vallée de Chamonix et le Massif des Aiguilles Rouges depuis la Tête de Balme (2321m) à la frontière franco-suisse (Haute-Savoie).
A different perspective on one of the most iconic peaks on Banff's Icefields Parkway, Mt. Chephren. Seen here with it's slightly higher partner, White Pyramid under gloomy, stormy skies. White Pyramid is one of the few peaks that isn't denoted as Mount, Mt or Peak.
Mt. Chephren was originally called Pyramid Mountain due to it's impressive form, while it's neighbor was named White Pyramid due to it's glaciated (white) crown. As there was already a Pyramid Mountain near Jasper it's name was changed to Chephren. A prominent mountaineer and author of the era, J. M. Thorington, liked the association of the peak with the pyramids of Egypt and recommended the name Chephren. Chephren was the fourth pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt and built the second of the three Great Pyramids.
A few of the more common shots of Chephren in comments.
Thanks for a taking a peak peek!
Enjoy a wonderful Sunday!

There is hardly a better place in my area to enjoy a perfect Autumn day than the open-air -museum in Detmold. We spent a whole day in beautiful sunshine without a cloud in this lovely location.
The LWL-Freilichtmuseum in Detmold is a great place to learn and experience the world of our ancestors. The open-air-museum is covered with buildings, tools, animals and plants of countryside life in Northwest Germany in the last couple of centuries. An endless source of inspiration for HDR photography.
This is the final image of the series. It is my favourite. Doesn't it look like a painting in the style of abstract impressionism?
A quaint cabin on a small island in Montana's Salmon Lake. Was surrounded by beautiful autumn foliage. Now that's some sweet privacy.
Friday's here. Enjoy!

Back to Scotland with this long exposure of the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow, taken this morning. Don't let the patch of blue sky fool you the sky was mostly blanketed with cloud until I got back home at which point the sun came out - just my luck!
Shot with the Olympus E-M1 atop Whites Road in Wilmington, Vermont. The colors this year, especially the reds, are just spectacular. This scene is where Mt. Haystack meets Mt. Snow.
... for a happy Sunday !

Château de Chillon (Chillon Castle) is an island castle located on Lake Geneva, south of Veytaux in the canton of Vaud. It is situated at the eastern end of the lake, on the narrow shore between Montreux and Villeneuve.
Lorenzo State Historic Site is a mansion built by Colonel John Lincklaen, founder of the village of Cazenovia, NY.[2] Colonel Linklaen was the agent of the Holland Land Company upon whose recommendation the Company purchased the 135,000-acre (55,000 ha) tract of land where the village grew. The painted brick mansion, begun in 1807 and completed in 1809, overlooks picturesque Cazenovia Lake. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in July, 1970.[1] Located on the grounds is the separately listed Rippleton Schoolhouse.
What amazing light I saw this evening as we finished up work for the day and off I went to walk about and take in the sights. Couple of Dutch Botters sitting in the harbor caught my eye. One of those images that I can't decide between B&W or Color, happening a bit more lately.
Thanks for your visit and comments, I appreciate that very much!
