Dawn arrives at the Valdez marina. I can still smell the ocean/fishing odors and the various sounds of the boats and crews getting ready for another day of world-class fishing. I was very impressed with the beauty and character of Valdez.
An earlier post of this same morning in comments.

I drove past this scene last week and thought the contrasting crop colours would make for an interesting composition. I actually went out to shoot it at sunset on Friday, but the sun was not illuminating the scene as I wanted it. So it was an early rise this morning (5.15 am!!!) to get this with the sun just adding that golden tinge that I wanted.

Sugar Creek cuts through Turkey Run State Park. While it was for the most part a gray and cloudy day, there was about an hour or so when a touch of blue sky could be seen through the clouds, which made for better views.
Just a bench along the path...

The fountains at the Schleißheim palace.
Schleißheim Palace was built 1701-1704 by Enrico Zuccalli for the Elector of Bavaria, Maximilian II Emanuel, who expected to become emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and therefore needed a representative new residence.
Unfortunately Maximilian II Emanuel never became the emperor...

Yet again, the light conditions were not great, the sunset was far too hazy and washed out for my liking, I waited for 1/2 hrs and eventually some faint pink hues appeared on the horizon and created the opportunity for this shot; not ideal but that's just my luck!
On a rainy Sunday morning...

In the countryside, silence is never silent: there is always a chirping of cicadas, a chirping of birds, a flutter of wings, the buzz of an insect, a lightning rustle in the grass, the hiccups of a drop of water. Yet there is no more beautiful silence.
