Das Frachtschiff M/S „Dresden“ liegt seit 1970 als Museumsschiff im Hafen des Schifffahrtsmuseums Rostock und trägt seitdem auch den Namen „Traditionsschiff Typ Frieden“ . Es war das fünfte einer Serie von 15 Schiffen die von 1956 bis 1961 auf der Warnowwerft in Warnemünde gebaut wurden. The past weeks we had an always changing weather - up in the mountains it was snowing , the snow was melting and meanwhile it snowed again...The typical weather for February.
The poem " Der Februar" by German author, poet, screenwriter and satirist Erich Kästner describes this month so well. (From the cycle of poems: "The 13 Months").

Die letzten Wochen hatten wir ein ständig wechselndes Wetter:
oben in den Bergen schneite und taute und stürmte und schneite es, unten in den Städten: auch trübes Wetter.
Erich Kästner beschreibt diesen Monat in dem Gedichtzyklus "Die 13 Monate" aus seinem ganz besonderen Blickwinkel.

Nordwind bläst. Und Südwind weht.
Und es schneit. Und taut. Und schneit.
Und indes die Zeit vergeht
bleibt ja doch nur eins: die Zeit.
Pünktlich holt sie aus der Truhe
falschen Bart und goldnen Kram.
Pünktlich sperrt sie in die Truhe
Sorgenkleid und falsche Scham.
In Brokat und seidnen Resten,
eine Maske vorm Gesicht,
kommt sie dann zu unsren Festen.
Wir erkennen sie nur nicht.
Bei Trompeten und Gitarren
drehn wir uns im Labyrinth
und sind aufgeputzte Narren
um zu scheinen, was wir sind.
Unsre Orden sind Attrappe.
Bunter Schnee ist aus Papier.
Unsre Nasen sind aus Pappe.
Und aus welchem Stoff sind wir?
Bleich, als sähe er Gespenster,
mustert uns Prinz Karneval.
Aschermittwoch starrt durchs Fenster.
Und die Zeit verläßt den Saal.
Pünktlich legt sie in die Truhe
das Vorüber und Vorbei.
Pünktlich holt sie aus der Truhe
Sorgenkleid und Einerlei.
Nordwind bläst. Und Südwind weht.

Ich glaub ich hab den Regensburger Dom noch nie ohne Gerüst gesehen,. Noch nicht mal als ich ein Jahr lang in Regensburg zur Schule gegangen bin, um mein Fachabitur zu machen.

In zwei Bögen schwingt sich die Steinbrücke über die türkisfarbene Verzasca. 400 Jahre nach ihrer Fertigstellung zieht sie täglich Besucher an.
Die einen fotografieren das postkartenreife Sujet von allen Seiten, andere benutzen die Brücke als Sprungbrett ins erfrischende Wasser.
Wer auf der engen Strasse fährt, die sich durch das grüne Verzascatal schlängelt, kann die geschichtsträchtige Steinbrücke von Lavertezzo kaum verpassen. Sie bildet einen spannenden Kontrast zur sonst eher wilden Natur des Tals.

Externsteine on a cold November day. After a week with rain and storm the weather calmed down and the temperatures dropped significantly. We used Saturday for a trip into the Detmold Area to visit the Externsteine and the Hermannsdenkmal.

Christmas is less than a fortnight away and nature here in Ostwestfalen is like early Spring. We used Sunday afternoon for an extended hiking tour around home waters of the river Werre in the Löhne area.
Una nocturna del faro de Cudillero, uno de los pueblos pesqueros mas bonitos de Asturias, si no el mas bonito. Esta dentro de la lista de los 40 pueblos mas bonitos de España, así que a quienes no lo conocéis aun os lo recomiendo.
