We finally got some snow - not loads, but enough for some shots. And it was fun to be out when it was actually coming down.

I still have to wait a month or so for this sight - this is from last year.
Many thanks to pat.bluey and Georgios Efthymiadis for identifying the plant!
Found in the Schlosspark Schleißheim. The park is one of few preserved Baroque gardens in Germany, the concept and basic structure was designed by Enrico Zuccalli - though I have a gut feeling that this plant was not planned by Zucalli.
As the German name is Kaiserkrone (= Crown Imperial) this might be some tongue-in-cheek planting by the responsible gardener, because the entire palace complex was ordered to be built by the Elector of Bavaria, Maximilian II Emanuel, who expected to become emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and therefore felt the need for a representative new residence.
Unfortunately Maximilian II Emanuel never became the emperor... - but now he finally got a "crown"...

Totally overcrowded at sunset.
The step pyramid has five square terraces, then two octagonal intermediate steps and finally the classic cylindrical stupa structure with bell, turban, double lotus, banana bud and hti. Stairs lead up to the fifth terrace on the four sides. They used to serve the faithful so that they could reach the terracotta slabs with scenes from the Jatakas on the individual terraces, which have since disappeared; nowadays tourists go up to admire the sunset.
So do we, of course.
Temple of Debod was originally erected 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of Aswan[2] in Upper Egypt. In 1960, due to the construction of the Aswan Dam, the temple was donated to Spain and reconstructed in Madrid.

This view from the northern Linderspitze at 2372m goes straight into Austria.
The Austrian/German borderline is actually about 5m below the point I was standing, though not particularly marked.

Nature park Sennes - Fanes -Braies.
In Great Fosses Lake reflected the meadow plateau of Alpe Fosses, Mount "Seekofel" and ( quite small because of the distance) in the center Mount "Sella di Sennes".
Naturpark Sennes-Fanes-Prags.

Demain, on verra bien !

Yunnan, Baida terraced rice fields at late afternoon on a perfect overlook. Some moving sunspots over the terraces made nice reflections.

This fire reached 5 miles from our house before it ended. There have been over 1400 fires burning in our state this year with over 44,000 acres in flames. Total acres burned in the south amounted to more than 300,000 acres. Unfortunately, many of these fires were a result of arson as was the case recently in Gatlinburg, TN. It ravaged the mountains and quickly engulfed parts of the city when winds gusting over 80 mph spread the fires. The firestorm covered more than 17,000 acres, killing 14 people, displacing more than 14,000 residents and visitors, and destroying or damaging 2,460 homes and businesses. Our prayers are with everyone involved!

Huelgoat is popular due to its impressive natural setting among the vestiges of the ancient forest that once covered most of Brittany. It has an area of 10 square kilometres.
The village lies on a lake created between the 16th and 18th centuries to supply water to local silver-lead mines by means of a 3 km (1.9 mi) leat or canal.

This waterfall was very popular probably because of its conspicuous location in Southern Iceland (so tour buses don't miss it). That said, this falls also featured some things that made it more than an ordinary tall waterfall; such as the ability to go behind it as well as its close proximity to other nice waterfalls such as the spooky Gljúfurárfoss. 5720
