From the side. The Walhalla memorial is a hall of fame that honours distinguished people "of the German tongue".
The idea for such a memorial is from (at that time) Crown Prince Ludwig I of Bavaria in 1807. The building in neoclassicistic style, modeled after the Parthenon in Athens, was finally begun in 1830 and completed in 1842.

Well, taking photos out in nature - but trying out a monochrome treatment for a nature shot. But if you don't practice, you can't get any better at it. So... practice makes perfect. In the long run.

Il Castello del Boccale si trova a Livorno, sud del quartiere di Antignano, lungo la strada per Quercianella, a poca distanza dalla Torre di Calafuria e dal Castello Sonnino. Il castello risale alla seconda metà dell'Ottocento, quando fu costruito sopra una torre medicea del 1595. The Castle of Boccale is located in Livorno, south of the Antignano district, along the road to Quercianella, a short distance from the Torre di Calafuria and Castello Sonnino. The castle dates back to the second half of the nineteenth century, when it was built over a Medici tower in 1595. It was one of the many watch towers that guarded the coast in a complex defense system.

In Ueno zoo there are some buildings much older than the zoo itself (which itself was founded in 1882). This five stories pagoda originally dates to 1631 but later had to be rebuilt after a fire. It was previously the property of the Kan'ei-ji temple, but in 1958 it was donated to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the management given to the zoo.
The sky around the Kelpies was mostly cloudy, but was clearer further east, so the sunrise created this colourful backdrop for me.

La basilica di Santa Maria Assunta è un luogo di culto cattolico situato nel comune di Camogli (Genova)
Chiesa unica nel suo genere in quanto non capita spesso all'interno di un luogo di culto di sentire all'esterno le onde che sbattono sui muri.
La chiesa parrocchiale fu costruita, in stile barocco, secondo fonti storiche locali, nel XII secolo su uno scoglio - isola nelle immediate vicinanze del porticciolo del borgo marinaro.

The Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta is a place of Catholic worship located in the municipality of Camogli (Genoa)
Unique church of its kind as it does not often happen inside a place of worship to feel the waves crashing on the walls outside.
The parish church was built, in Baroque style, according to local historical sources, in the 12th century on a rock - island in the immediate vicinity of the marina of the seaside village.

This is the concert hall and conference centre in Reykjavik. It was opened in 2011.
I've read a few different stories about its design, but I like the one that says it is meant to look like the scales of a fish. In this shot it looks like some of the lights are out in the windows, it is actulaly just the angle the light has been caught at, just like the scales of a fish.
