Aftermath of the Milford on Sea storm 14th February 2014

I know this one's already been done but it's just too easy to pass up.

As I was uploading this photo, my telephone rang. And it was the pizza place I ordered this from and they were conducting a survey. "What did you think of the pizza?", "Are the prices reasonable?", etc, etc. It's the first time they've ever done this and I just thought the timing was really interesting.

The subject of this photo is a dolls body following a mask coming up from behind it. The intention was to imitate and show a Vintage photo by Ralph Eugene Meatyard. It demonstrates how I desaturated it and used curves to add more depth into the picture. To add even more depth I used lens correction in order to let people really focus on the subject. This is my favorite picture because it shows how grotesque a picture can get just by using different offset settings.

(I miss you miss you)

Hello there the angel from my nightmare

The shadow in backround of the morgue

The unsespecting victim of darkness in the valley

We can live like Jack and Sally if we want

Where you can always find me

And we'll have Halloween on Christmas

And in the night we'll wish this never ends

We'll wish this never end

Where are you and I'm so sorry

I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight

I need somebody and always

This sick strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting everytime

And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders

catching things and eating their insides

Like indecision to call you

And hear your voice of treason

Will you come home and stop this pain tonight

stop this pain tonight

Don't waste your time on me your already the voice inside my head(6x)

I miss you miss you(6x)

One of the park rangers was searching the lake for a missing gentleman. He asked what I was taking the pictures for, and I said he was the most beautiful thing I'd seen all day. I got a smile out of it.

Brisbane was over 30 today and there isn't anything much more mundane than an electric fan. This one is 'On'', as you can see by the buttons. The blades are literally "missing in action."

The meaning of the items on this special Missing Man Table.

The table is round -- to show our everlasting concern for our missing men.

The tablecloth is white -- symbolizing the purity of their motives when answering the call to duty.

The single red rose, displayed in a vase, reminds us of the life of each of the missing, and their loved ones, and friends of these Americans who keep the faith, awaiting answers.

The vase is tied with a red ribbon, symbol of our continued determination to account for our missing.

The Solitary Candle -- represents "The upward reach of their unconquerable spirit".

A slice of lemon on the bread plate is to remind us of the bitter fate of those captured and missing in a foreign land.

A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears endured by those missing and their families who seek answers.

The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain those lost from our country, founded as "One Nation Under God".

The chairs are empty -- they are missing.

The glass is inverted -- to symbolize their inability to share this evening's [morning's/day's] toast.

This is my Digo. He passed away about a week ago. He had cancer last year and since his surgery both his hind legs got worse. 2 weeks prior, he lost the will to even move. We made a heartbreaking decision.

We miss him, badly.

the confusion when crossing the street ..

the dirt of drunk ppl ..

the noise of construction workers ..

the pain of walking to work in high heels ..

going to the movies all alone ..

having food disorders ..

The only thing missing? Birds. It could have used some birds.

Tsukimaru threw me into a panic by disappearing from May 5th through 11th. Here is the email I wrote on the night of the 10th.

This evening, J, the informant I had thought to be bogus and non-existent, called me again and said she had the cat right now in their apartment on the 4th avenue. At least this time she didn't sound like she was on the latest party drug, but I still expected little from her. And the result was a mixed bag. It was a pleasant surprise to see her and her friends actually existing with good intention, but the cat looked very, very different from Tsukimaru. When I thanked the group of girls and tried to leave, one of them asked if I wanted to adopt her. I felt sorry for the cat, but I could not think of bringing another cat home, especially one looking like Tsukimaru. A few hours later, a female student I knew called me and said she might have Tsukimaru at her 3rd avenue apartment. It was past 10 p.m. I flew my bike to her place, and just as I was afraid, I faced the same cat again. This time I touched the cat, and she smiled back bitterly about our odd relationship---or so I felt. The student and her roommate insisted on my taking her home, at least temporarily, and I had a harder time coming home alone. Speaking of adoption, the kind neighbors who took me to a nearby grassland to see a nearly perfect look-alike of Tsukimaru yesterday suggested me a similar plan during the drive home. I said no because I never wanted to have her owner (if existing) go through my experience since Friday. Yes, cats are mere animals, they are generally nice to touch, and in some ways exchangeable with each other, but this is something very different from borrowing shoes at a bowling lane, at least for me...

Things are already getting repetitive on the fourth day of my quest, and now I am developing a disturbing image of myself surrounded by dozen Tsukimaru-like cats in my basement and still printing flyers for the real one in tears.

I thought it might do some good to post this.

Missing person - these kind of signs really make me sad. What happened? Where is he/she? Why are they missing? Are they still alive? Did they run off and leave their families/friends behind? There are a lot of question that need answering and I really hope that they will be found or find their way home. My heart goes out to all the families that are searching for someone they love and I sincerely hope that it will never happen to me.

Same day of the dunlin, walking back to the car, I was a little disappointed for missing the snow buntings, that were reported to be in the IJmuiden area... and there they were! Less than 100m to the parking lot.

Books 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 of The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind, that I have stocked up on for future reading.

The reading is definitely in the future as I am missing Book 3, which is throwing a spanner in the works. The shrink wrap on the boxset is going to stay on unless I find the missing book.

My photostream has been missing the silly lately. A few of my contacts like to jump in photos. I talked Tillie into trying it with me. We ended up with many, many versions with failed attempts. However, it being me I thought, "If I put a whole lot of fail together does it equal a win??' I tend to think so. At the very least it shows how much fun we had trying this out!

Title reference. I loved that song in High School, and the band came to Little Rock (back before bands came to Little Rock). I was heart broken because I was around 16 and looked 13 and couldn't get into a bar that was 21 and up.
