Hard to believe the Spicebush Swallowtails will be leaving us in the next month. I will be enjoying them and posting shots as long as they are here. I love the multiple orange and white spots on the ventral hind wings. The spicebush is missing one at position three (unlike the black swallowtail that has a full complement of seven spots in the front row.) Their orange and white color reminds me of creamsicles.
This is for my Grandmother who was so precious to me. Today was her birthday, Happy Birthday,
We both shared a love for Autumn, so this one's for you, dear...
Bench Monday: Postcard To Lexi
My 10 yr old is at camp for two weeks, for the third year in a row. Dropped her off on Sunday and miss her so much already, though I know she's having a great time. She got in the "older girls" cabin and is just so thrilled. This will be my next postcard to her.
She is such an amazing kid, she takes my breath away. I can't wait to see all the good she's going to do for the world.
This two weeks is so important to her building a strong sense of self and her doing this without me makes us so much closer when we're together.
Just unpacked my BrickCon luggage and noticed that two of my MOCs (within the red box) are surprisingly absent.
I had not had the chance to do a photo-shoot for them before attending, so this image from Sir_Darc is the only good one I have.
Being the closest MOCs to the edge of the table, I have a strong suspicion that they walked out the door without my knowing, but any information is appreciated.

normally on Thursdays I look after Elsie, but this week I am in Gloucester helping Christopher with his move into sheltered accommodation, doing the final clearing of the family home for sale completion on Tuesday. I may not be about much between now and Monday, but hope to drop in and see what you are all doing in the odd free second!
I found a stake labeled "missing stake", so I guess it isn't missing anymore. Or maybe it is really the mixing stake.
It is one of the stakes on Playalinda Beach that mark turtle nests. Next to it is a wire mesh that presumably helps protect the eggs.
Thank you so much for a truly great week in Amsterdam, Rons.
I'll go put some lotion on my sunburn now.
When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day and make it ok
I miss you
