Every time I think of you, I always catch my breath

And I'm still standing here, and you're miles away

pic taken by my phone

You won't cry

for my absence, I know -

You forgot me long ago...

Am I that unimportant...?

Am I so insignificant...?

Isn't something missing?

Isn't someone missing me?

First of all, I'm sorry for the long idle. I've been away from Flickr since.. forever? I don't know. That's because I was busy with exams and stuff. But now I'm finished with exams and my studies, yeay! I'm only waiting for my graduation which is on February next year o_O

Anyway, lately the weather's not being so nice, what with its subzero temperature, sometimes reaching down to -15 degree Celcius. As someone who were born and raised up in a warm climate country, I can say that I can never get used to the coldness of winter, no matter how hard I tried (haha).

Therefore, at the moment I'm not in the mood (lazy, actually) to go out and shoot anything in the cold so I'll be digging and posting some pretty old photos from my archives.

This sakura/cherry blossom photo is obviously shot during the last spring season. Just bear with me. I'll let you guys know whenever I have something new to post.

Back to a day out in Kananaskis with friend, Pam, on 5 September 2019. Love these very pale grey mountain slopes.

On 5 September 2019, friend Pam and I had a great day out in Kananaskis. It had been just over two months since I drove myself out there, but Pam had been only two days before. There were a few different places that she wanted to stop, and she was hoping to see a bear - preferably a Grizzly, but we were out of luck for that. However, we were lucky enough to see two Black Bears, which was such a treat.

Our day started off really well, leaving the city at 7:00 am. Driving along a backroad SW of the city, a small, rather cute, old barn was our first find. It was set back from the road a little and easily missed, so I'm glad I spotted it.

Further on, we came across a White-tailed Deer feeding in a field, and it looked so beautiful in the early morning sun. Normally, I don't get out this early and I know I miss that special light.

After quite a bit of driving, we were taken by surprise by our first Black Bear sighting of the day. Definitely not in a place that we would have expected. The animal was a long way off, part way up a big hill, and would have been very easy to miss. Luckily, a vehicle had stopped at the side of the road and we saw someone with a tripod - always a hopeful sign. Scouring the hillside, I spotted a black shape amongst the grass and small bushes. Bear! After taking our photos, I made sure I walked over to the other people and thanked them for spotting and stopping.

Once we got into the mountains, we found ourselves facing dense fog, which seemed to go on forever. It felt like our outing might just have to end soon after it had begun. Fortunately, though, it did eventually clear when we reached the Ptarmigan Cirque area, and we found ourselves in sunshine. Looking back in the direction from which we had just come, the low cloud made for a beautiful scene. One little White-crowned Sparrow sat in a tree at the edge of the parking lot and gave us a chance to take photos. It seemed unusually tolerant of us.

Further north, we stopped at the Pika location and were able to get a few somewhat distant shots. We didn't stay here for very long, as we had other places to visit. A further half-hour drive brought us to a beautiful lake with an incredibly beautiful setting - Wedge Pond. For quite a few years, I have never been sure where this pond was and whether I had ever been there before. It certainly didn't feel familiar. As well as the spectacular scenery, I also photographed a rather beautiful Moth that had landed on a thistle. The bright yellow splash of colour from three or four Goat's-beard wildflowers gave another photo opportunity - they are attractive flowers, but it's too bad they are a highly invasive weed.

Leaving Wedge Pond, we continued northwards and were so delighted to see our second Black Bear of the day. This was a very challenging bear to photograph, as it walked off into the trees and soon disappeared completely. Photos tended to be missing either a head, or a rear end, or capturing barely anything at all.

Coming back south, about an hour later, we stopped at Buller Pond, where we saw a few mushrooms, including a small scattering of beautiful Shaggy Mane/Inky Cap mushrooms. I love the scenery at Buller Pond and at Peninsular, giving a fine view of the Opal Range with its incredible erosion patterns.

A small group of Bighorn Sheep made a nice ending to our day in Kananaskis. No matter how many I see, they are always welcome. Very recently, I seem to have seen them almost everywhere I have been.

A most enjoyable day - thanks so much, Pam, for the invite and exciting day. Sorry we didn't manage to find a Grizzly Bear for you, but two Black Bears were still a real treat..

A shot I took along Hines Drive during the Fall. Missing color this time of year. Hope everyone is having a good week!!!

APPROXIMATE RELEASE DATE: 2005

MANUFACTURER: M.G.A.

DOLLS IN PACK: Yasmin, Eitan

MISSING ITEMS: Sunglasses, cellphone, walkie talkie, earring, 3 bracelets, compact, perfume, guitar

IMPORTANT NOTES: Yasmin's shirt, skirt, and jacket were also packaged with 2005 Rock Angelz Roxxi (skirt and shirt also on 2005 Rock Angelz Yasmin); her boots were packaged on 2005 Rock Angelz Cloe.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: This picture is a bit of a lie...because technically speaking I don't have Rock Angelz Roadie Yasmin's complete ensemble. But for the sake of my guide here on Flickr, I opted to use the repackaged pieces from other outfits to recreate Yasmin's look. I do have her boots, skirt, and her jacket--all of which she wears on display. I got all three pieces from the same lot as my doll, back in the fall of 2011. What I remember most about Yasmin's outfit is the fact that my World Twiins Nevaeh doll was wearing these boots and this skirt when I first found her. Initially, I thought that the skirt and boots went to Nevaeh, since they seemed to look so good on her. I can't remember if I changed Nevaeh out of those pieces when I bought her, or if she stayed in them. I ended up buying the rest of the bin several months later, so I can't remember on which occasion I ended up with Yasmin's stuff. Either way, I'm really glad that I got some of Yasmin's outfit and her shoes with her, especially since at the time, I was super hard up on extra Bratz clothes!

Taking a short break from posting edited photos from my creative shoots for a moment to post a little tribute to my mum. Because she was here and she will always matter.

**

Dear Mum,

It's been another year without you. It doesn't get easier, although people who have never lost someone significant still expect that it will. It doesn't. You're with me every minute of every single day. I've wanted to text you so many times. I've wanted to see you more.

Your granddaughters are growing up. Too quickly for my liking and no doubt for yours. But they'll always be our little girls. I know you're watching over them and us and proud of the way we're trying. Your sons are doing well. Struggling with missing you and certain times are harder than others but they're doing their best.

Your best friends did an amazing job looking after us in the first year and have stayed in contact. You always thought of them as additional family and they truly never let you down Mum. They are everything you always thought them to be. You wouldn't be surprised to know that and neither are we; but we're grateful all the same.

I miss you. I love you. Always wishing you were here. Angry and sad that you're not.

With love always,

Kel x

To all of the people out there doing their best,

I see you. If all you did this year was survive, well done. Don't compare your story to others. We're all different. And absolutely no one puts everything on social media so you're comparing yourself with someone else's heavily edited version of themselves anyway.

I hope you all have a happy, safe and fun start to the new year. Do more of what gives you peace and enjoyment. Do less of what doesn't. If something isn't working, try something different. Don't be afraid to try something new. The only time you'll ever fail is when you don't try at all.

Happy New Year x

Close to Palm Spring, Sea, Salton Sea is an total antithesis.. Check on my blog to see more of my photos exploration...

braking hard, front legs jamming down, hind legs lifting off, ears flapping. all that's missing is liftoff.

i felt a little guilty as I took this picture of this elderly lady, intruding on her privacy but I also thought of how beautiful she looked as she sat enjoying the sea air. She seemed to me to be missing someone or something, totally wrapped up with her thoughts. Yeah i know she looks like she's asleep but she wasn't.
