Common guillemots (Uria aalge) in their summer plumage, from Easter break on the island I'm from one year ago.

This year have been abnormal- I haven't seen them at all yet. Normally I see them both at sea in our neighbourhood and on Jæren during winter and spring (but I know others have found some there lately).

None came ashore after a storm either, like they use to- although that is not a nice way to see them. I hope that they don't struggle too much. The northern gannets (havsule in Norwegian) have been very few as well.

The common guillemot to the right here, is a bridled form of guillemot - with a white eye ring and a thin white line behind the eye.

On other photos, they cuddled and scratched each other for some time. Adorable!

We have permanent daylight these days, so we can't see Earth surface when night on Earth. Missing orbital sunrises!

..."Godilocks". Female, 10 yrs old, 4' 6" and blonde.

She breached her ASBO (for breaking & entering, theft and vandalism) and was last spotted in your neck of the woods.

Have you seen her?

No?

Well, thank you for your time and if you do think of anything please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thats me x 2 and Lou composited with a spooky house I found in Kegworth (apologies to the owners!) and bear heads from one of those coin operated kids' rides. And that doll is actually a Goldilocks doll from a kit we sell at work.

There seems to be a bit of a theme developing in my photos: bears & replacement heads - I wonder what psychological meaning that has? ;o)

UK. September. 2006.

Missing it again just a little bit, looking back at these photos. It'd be nice to be there today, walking around looking at all the desert-type plants and wildlife with all that water behind. An interesting juxtaposition...

(Try to map something in the new flickr and you get "We’re hard at work redesigning our brand new photo experience" - and basically, you can't do that here.

It's brand new, not working, and already being redesigned?

I'm so impressed.)

ATSF and BN locomotives on a BNSF train traverse the Montana Rail Link along the Clark Fork River near Paradise, MT, on 8-20-2000. It won't be much longer after this photo was taken that almost all of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe power will be wearing BNSF initials.

NR38, with NR38 missing on the front, leads Southern Spirit liveried NR84 & AN1 past the row of trees near Wingello while working Pacific National’s 5MS2 intermodal service. NR38 was added to the front after the train had stopped around Donnybrook for some time. Friday, 5th April 2019.

An addendum: The selection of this photo for inclusion in Explore is a bit of an embarrassment. My photographic skills and the quality of this image are vastly inferior to those taken by many far more deserving. Let me assure you that all your photos bring me immense pleasure! However, this unexpected selection has given me a rare opportunity to reach a larger population than might otherwise see my images or read my descriptions.

Let me tell you who I am missing. She is my sweet sister, my best friend and my sidekick in all of life's adventures. She died in June of ALS. The pain, the struggles and the courage of those impacted by this disease cannot be fully described or understood unless you are afflicted yourself or know someone diagnosed with this disease. If you are unfamiliar with ALS, here's a link: www.alsa.org/donate/. Perhaps after reading this, you might consider making a donation in hopes that someday a cure will be found. Thank you Flickr and Explore for giving me this unexpected opportunity to ask for help. To every Flickr member, I wish you a joyful, healthy holiday season with your cameras ready to capture all your happiest emotions.
