Comment: "Ms Bustin is first a painter. In her compositional arrays, she holds this as a constant while varying her medium. This she does perhaps as an experiment to explore media-specific valence or even to leave nothing to chance in an effort to achieve resonance through emergent materiality. To me, Ms Bustin's paintings are a glass harp of sorts- an echo chamber for the text that resides in and around her work, trying to strike the perfect resonant tune to carry beyond text and materials.
