A prosperous establishment of the early 1870's, with an elegant Mansard roof, small tower and iron grillwork. Sign of the growth associated with the construction of the Third Welland Canal (1871-1882). Its neighbour, 325 St. Paul St., is a well maintained example of the same period

I finally got the time to enjoy a day out in a beautiful autumn landscape. One of the places I visited were Strømsfoss pier, with steamboats as daily in the summertime transport is arranged on the Halden canal. Strømsfoss, Østfold, Norway.

poi viene notte :-))))

Beautiful Early Marsh-orchid (Dachtylorhiza incarnata subsp. incarnata). The genus name Dachtylorhiza means finger-lobed tubers in Greek (‘dactylos’ – finger, ‘rhiza’ – root) with reference to its palmately divided (2-5 lobes) tubers; while ‘incarnata’ in Latin means ‘to make into flesh’. So, the two scientific names together could sound quite poetic: ‘The flesh raised from roots’. Taken at Clattinger Farm, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, Wiltshire, England.

Looking in the deepness of the eyes of this ageless Sadhu, I can perceive everuthing which has bewitched me of India, wisdom, sadness, life, death, richness, poverty, story, courage, tradition and the people. India is an ancient and strange place, difficult to understand and to know, but easy to love.

Unfortunately it was not possible to get perfect symmetry due to the column where I was standing.

Weeks half over! Have a wonderful Wednesday.

August 2016, Peak District Derbyshire, UK,

Located in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, Dark Hollow Falls is one of the most popular hikes in the park. Although the trail loop is less than 2 miles, the entirety of the hike and trail is set upon a very steep incline.

I was lucky to snag this image on the hike back up (and you better believe it was tough!). This particular vantage point was VERY crowded with other tourists; fortunately, I was able to wiggle my way to the front and this awesome shot was the result. Some late afternoon light left a brilliant glow on the upper falls that gave a nice contrast to the darker, more ominous shade from the foliage overhead. Not a bad way to end a tough hike!

Here's a dramatic sunset on teh Zanskar peaks, higher than 6000mt; in Ladakh, India, a remote place located a 3600mt over the Sea Level. I definitely love to travel the world and I think I will never stop until I can.

I found this seagull perched on a post leading out to the rougher waters of the area surrounding Venice. There were boats by each home or building there because after all it is only one of two ways to navigate Venice. The other is by walking.
