Une rivière éphémère due à la marée descendante.
Quand la mer se retire calmement elle nous laisse ces dessins...
An ephemeral river due to the falling tide.
When the sea is calm withdraws it leaves us these drawings ...
A long exposure shot taken at the Belem tower in Lisbon as the sun rose, and before the tourists arrived. It reminds me what a wonderful spot Lisbon is. Must get back there pronto.
The New York Court of Appeals Building, officially referred to as Court of Appeals Hall, is located at the corner of Eagle and Pine streets in central Albany, New York, United States. It is a stone Greek Revival building designed in the mid-19th century by Henry Rector. In 1971 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, one of six buildings housing a state's highest court currently so recognized.[note 1] Seven years later it was included as a contributing property when the Lafayette Park Historic District was listed on the Register.
At the time it was built it was known simply as the State Hall
Love is in the air, in the whisper of the tree,
Love is in the air in thethunder of the sea,
And I don't know if I'm just dreaming,
Don't know if I feel safe,
But it's something that I must believe in
And it's there when you call out my name...

Festival Square Gordon Block, 10 Downie Street
Built by Mayor William Gordon,round-arched Romanesque windows, dominant pilasters, capped towers, intricate scrolls and floral roundels in the concrete lintels
Taken at Portage lake last night. The temperatures were around -8F degrees. I came across this section of the lake where the ice had fractured and piled up on the beach. I highlighted the foreground by using my LED Coleman latern on low setting to paint the ice and the sharp angles of the snow. Unfortunately I just missed the huge explosion of the northern lights in the background. There were oranges, pinks, and greens.
Encounter with a desert-adapted Black Rhino in the Damaraland, Namibia, on a walk.
This was a desired encounter. We were with 3 guides taking good care of us.
As the huge animal came too close, they chased it away with loud shouts.

According to a song from Whtiney Housten: "And in that moment of time I will feel, I will feel eternity". Now, here we have one short moment inside St. Peter's Basilica. It may be a photographic approach to bridge past and presence with the captue of movement, with the capture of one single moment in time.

Hopefully everyone can let me continue my indulgence of Roan Mountain from last month... This one was taken from Jane Bald after most everyone had cleared out. I'd wanted to hop up on these rocks earlier but really I think it worked out better for after sunset, at least I'm telling myself that. Shooting 16mm from here was only capturing the right two-thirds of the image....so I took a 2nd shot and was able to merge them into this mostly square composition. Again, no clouds for this evening, but gosh, I couldn't complain with the color palette I was working with... I hope everyone's week is off to a great start...but I could do without this scorching heat...no more high 90s please.

The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
