Sometimes happens to see a dramatic stunning sunset, something unique, something unbelievable, astounding, but, when you drive through the south west region of the USA, this thing happens pretty often. This time I was close to the Mono Lake, looking for an access to the Tufa when I saw this, an heavy red sunset in the Yosemite Park direction. I just had the time to halt the car, place the tripod, mount the polarizing filter and do some shots and the show was over, but what the hell of a show!

The net is overflowing with great pictures from Panamint/Death Valley. Ofc I took a lot of pictures on my trip to this earea, but instead of adding just another similar-looking picture, I desided to do som PS up front and presented my way. The scene is real, I have just altered the colours. If you want to see the valley in it's original colours, just google it:-)

A Sandhill Crane flies in an easterly direction near sunset one evening last month at Michigan's Kensington Metropark.
Flicker friends, after Saturday, I will be taking a few days away from Flickr. See you when I return.
This is another shot taken on my visit down to Bamburgh earlier in the week. The light house is on the Farne Islands and the was taken about 20 minutes before sunrise. The image is almost straight out the camera and i have only cropped it slightly and added contrast. The saturation has not been touched, these were genuine colours and were absolutely amazing.

Mount Hood, called Wy'east by the Multnomah tribe, is a potentially active stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc of northern Oregon. It was formed by a subduction zone on the Pacific coast and rests in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is located about 50 miles (80 km) east-southeast of Portland, on the border between Clackamas and Hood River counties. In addition to being Oregon's highest mountain, it is one of the loftiest mountains in the nation based on its prominence.

Living by the sea means you need to get used to those birds. While they can be very loud, they really don't bother me. I've been living here for few years, and so far never ever had I situation when a bird was obnoxious. I did however, hear stories about them being somehow aggressive while getting fed by humans.
The European herring gull (Larus argentatus) is a large gull (up to 26 in (66 cm) long). One of the best known of all gulls along the shores of western Europe, it was once abundant. It breeds across Northern Europe, Western Europe, Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltic states. Some European herring gulls, especially those resident in colder areas, migrate further south in winter, but many are permanent residents, e.g. in the British Isles, Iceland, or on the North Sea shores. European herring gulls have a varied diet, including fish, crustaceans and dead animals as well as some plants.
While herring gull numbers appear to have been harmed in recent years, possibly by fish population declines and competition, they have proved able to survive in human-adapted areas, and can often be seen in towns acting as a scavenger.

Here's another composition from my last trip to La Jolla. The photo gods were kind to us this evening and it turns out there where 4 flickr members all there at the same time taking advantage of the moment, that night on the reef. Someone needs to come up with a Flickr hat or armband or something :)
Ya know, It just realized. It's funny that I'm talking about new hats after the story on my last post. If you haven't read the description than please do you might get a chuckle out of it. :)
