Anglet forms part of the Biarritz-Bayonne-Anglet 'conurbation', on the Atlantic Coast in south-west France and running along the Adour River to the north.
The coast and beaches are the principal attraction here, and the beach at Anglet is pretty much the southern end of the very long (200km) stretch of beaches that run in a more or less continuous row from Arcachon to Biarritz.
As with most of the beaches along this part of Atlantic, the five kilometres of beaches in Anglet are typically long and sandy. Behind the beaches the landscape is mostly of open grassy areas and small forested areas, and there is a promenade popular with walkers, cyclists and joggers behind a large part of the beach.
To me, it was a wonderful experience to walk the 4,5 km trail close to the Ocean along Anglet's 11 beaches during high tide...
Anglet is a synonym for surfing. You will find some of France's best surf spots.

Thanks for your visit and for any remarks, faves or suggestions!
Here's the color version of Mt. Robson catching the clouds as they move east. Like most giant peaks they create their own weather patterns and collect clouds resulting in rare opportunities to see it in the full sun. I came close but never saw it cloud free. Spectacular regardless.
The b/w version in comments.
I didn't know till visiting here that Mount Robson is the source of the longest river in British Columbia, the Fraser River. One of the great rivers on the continent.

Back to last fall in Utah.
One of the icons of the landscape photograph of the Southwest is the reflection of the watchman, who was illuminated by the evening sun, in the water of the Virgin River. Due to unfavorable sunshine around this time of year, the reflection was rather unspectacular.
The glow of the cottonwoods in the side sunlight was, in my opinion, the more beautiful motif on this day.

From a geological standpoint, Iceland is a very young country, still in the midst of its own creation.
A prosperous establishment of the early 1870's, with an elegant Mansard roof, small tower and iron grillwork. Sign of the growth associated with the construction of the Third Welland Canal (1871-1882). Its neighbour, 325 St. Paul St., is a well maintained example of the same period
It's snowy and gloomy outside. The old photos only make me remember the life in color now:-) Here's one of the macros of the recent summer.
Thank you for all the comments and favs, my friends.

Of all the shots I took this particular evening, this photo is the one most in focus. The red color is accurate, too; I didn't "add" it in. ;)
One of the courtyards of the Residenz palace in the city center. The name Brunnenhof (fountain courtyard) of this courtyard with an elongated octagonal outline derives from the Wittelsbacherbrunnen fountain located there.
Remark: Munich has 2 fountains named Wittelsbacherbrunnen, the other is located on the Lenbachplatz square.

Bellagio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region of Lombardy. It is located on Lake Como, also known by its Latin-derived name, the Lake of Lario. The arms of the lake form an inverted Y. The triangular land mass at the base of the inverted Y is the Larian Triangle. The Como arm of the lake lies to its south west, the Lecco arm of the lake to its south east. At the northern point of the triangle sits Bellagio, looking across to the northern arm of the lake and, behind it, the Alps. It has always been famous for its location.

The charming little hotel where I stayed in Venice had a terrace restaurant where I ate one night. The hotel was the home of the famous composer, Vivaldi, and was on St. Mark's Basin. It was also next to this great canal where one had a view of several bridges.

went out with some folks from our photo club yesterday to a place near Peggy's Cove called Polly's Cove.. Lots of rock and shrub trees and clear blue skies.

If I moved about I probably could have got a perfect reflection, but I thought the grass added nice foreground detail and made the shot a little different. This is the second outing for my Big Stopper and I am really pleased with the way it has caught the cloud which is tinged by the sunrise.
In the pre-Christmas period, the city of Traben-Trarbach on the river Moselle is particularly attractive:
The Trarbach Moselle shore with its art nouveau buildings is illuminated next to the underground Christmas market around the themes "wine, enjoyment & culture", which takes place in large wine cellars.
The image is a 16: 8 section of a panorama of 8 vertical shots a' 70 mm, total size 27265 x 6761 pixels.
