Exploring the sand dunes along the shores of Lake Michigan in Michigan City, Indiana. The sunset was a bust, but a day at the beach still beats a day pretty much anywhere else.
青年大街 (Qingnian Dajie) in Shenyang on a cold winter night.
Think about -25°C...

I drove past this scene last week and thought the contrasting crop colours would make for an interesting composition. I actually went out to shoot it at sunset on Friday, but the sun was not illuminating the scene as I wanted it. So it was an early rise this morning (5.15 am!!!) to get this with the sun just adding that golden tinge that I wanted.
The famous "fairy tale" castle built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria.
Taken from the Marienbrücke.
This castle also served as model and inspiration for the "Sleeping Beauty Castles" in several Disneyland resorts as well as the "Excalibur Hotel and Casino" in Las Vegas.

Still shocked about the Nice horror...
Somehow life goes on
but when it's said and done
it's such a bitter pill
when you think the battle's won
you hear the distant guns
of all those fighting still
the battle's in our heads
one we alway lose
whichever side we choose
we can paint the planet red
or black and blue instead
but we are one world.

The western facade of the "New Palace" reflected in a pond.
The New Schleißheim Palace was built 1701-1704 by Enrico Zuccalli for the Elector of Bavaria, Maximilian II Emanuel, who expected to become emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and therefore felt the need for a representative new residence.
Unfortunately Maximilian II Emanuel never became the emperor...
ℹ️ In case you wonder how an over 300 years old building can be called "New Palace", please walk around that pond and turn around 180° so you can see the nearly 400-year old "Old Palace".

Sunset at the Regattastrecke. Short telephoto version, last upload of this sunset.
This means - go out and catch another😁!
The Regattastrecke Oberschleißheim (Oberschleißheim Regatta Course) is an artificial lake that was build for the 1972 Olympic Games as the rowing and canoe sprint venue.
The lake is 2,230 metres long and 140 metres wide. Since 2018 it is under Denkmalschutz (scheduled monument, historic landmark).
It is still used as training facility for local rowing clubs and for related sports events, e.g the World Rowing Cup 1997 and the 2007 World Rowing Championships.

The last sunlight on the water
just before the sun disappears behind the thick edge clouds
Het laatste zonlicht op het water
net voor de zon verdwijnt achter de dikke rand wolken

Althought in contrast with the previous post it's the same location. This road cuts the Villa Borghese park. I played a bit with the exposure. Handheld

I don't often use a DX lens with my full-frame camera but I wanted the reach that my Nikon 200mm DX gave me to get this tree, situated well into Loch Eck, nicely framed..
.
I've kayaked out to this tree a few times and got out ... standing in the middle of the loch is a weird experience :)

A night view of this stainless steel sculpture, named "Airborne", standing 6.4 m tall, created by Christopher Klein. It is located in the Angerhof building complex. The sculpture shall represent gas molecules, in reference to the tenant Linde AG (now Linde plc and also not a tenant anymore).
