The name of this island is Christlieger, it is the only island in the Königssee lake.

It features a statue of John of Nepomuk, who is the patron against the dangers of the water.

This view from the northern Linderspitze at 2372m goes straight into Austria.

The Austrian/German borderline is actually about 5m below the point I was standing, though not particularly marked.

This is the little French village I was staying in on holiday. I liked this scene as I thought the black bollards in front of the olive trees looked like giant olives!!!

And so it is in Munich...

Greylag geese in the sky.

For centuries this road has been called Zoutdijk. In 1390 it was mentioned that salt was traded there, so probably there was a dock where the salt-supplying ships were unloaded.

The Rozenhoedkaai was not used as a name until the 18th century. The reason was that stalls were built there where rosaries were sold. Why in some cases "quay" or "dijk" was preferred to the more common word "rei" was not investigated by the linguists.

Along the Rozenhoedkaai, Georges Rodenbach brought the main character of his story to life in his Bruges-la-Morte.

The Rozenhoedkaai runs from Dijver to Braambergstraat. The Rozenhoedkaai is also the most photographed point in Bruges.

This is what happens doing a long exposition on a cloudy sky at 2000mt OSL. The place looks like Iceland or a similar place but it is Italy, on the Valley of the "Piccolo Sanbernardo". Looks strange enough?

The lamp posts in Venice always drew my attention. The stret lights we have here in california are functional, but lack personality! Funny how we are always drawn to the beauty of something different when we travel.

An upwards view between the 3 supertalls in Lujiazui.

The world's only group of three supertalls.

😁 I must have a gazillion of these shots, but the view is fascinating...

Bagan also Arimaddana or Arimaddanapura, "city breakers of enemies", and Tambadipa, "copper country" or Tassadessa, "parched land") is a historic royal city in Myanmar with over two thousand preserved sacred buildings made of brick. The area made up of temples extends over approx. 36 km² in a stepped landscape and forms one of the largest archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. Bagan is located in what is now the Mandalay Division, 155 km southwest of the city of Mandalay on the east bank of the Irrawaddy, halfway between its source and its mouth in the Indian Ocean and is now one of the most important tourist destinations in Myanmar.
