Had some more time to *play* today, so decided to upload this for my Sliders Sunday shot, which will have to wait until the group opens up!

Last night we visited an old haunt in Rhode Island, set amongst the marshlands. The restaurant hasn't changed much in 30 years, which was refreshing in a way, but quite a contrast from their neighbors who have cleverly put up a most sophisticated, temporary tent to welcome back their very popular clientele after a devastating fire, only a few months ago, closed their main restaurant across the street.

I couldn't resist taking a *shot* of this torn canvas, as an invitation to post one of my *key chain* dangles which I created for my Physical Therapist, Lee, who loves to play golf! The blue zippered bag is a miniature, just deep enough with two pockets to enclose an extra ball and tee (for Lee)!

The orange, red and blue beads represent the exercise balls one uses for stretches. The barbell is self-explanatory; the little bucket and shovel are to help digging out of sand traps on the course; the little beaded figure is a patient, and the circular disc says, "never give up" . . . the smiling sun, moon and star charms indicate reaching for the light in recovery! I finished the dangle with Lee's name and a #1 hanging on one of the hands of the figurine!

I'm not sure what he made of this, but I warned him how I also love using art and creativity as other *healing tools* . . . with the JOY in gifting my dodads. as thankyous, to special people in my life who have helped me on this challenging journey!

never mind the rain... it's only water!

I am really pleased at how this bag turned out. I already want to make another one.

A little something for me this holiday season. I started a new weekly craft night with a friend, so I made this pouch to tote my sewing and knitting supplies to and from our meetings. The front features 3 "spools" in rainbow colors, with a little machine and hand stitching on the back. Blogged at:

completely unintentionally i happened to be listening to nirvana and alice in chains and wearing a flannel shirt while making this. and none of that even occurred to me until i was finished.

Hi Partner, I hope you like this zippered pouch. It’s made from texty and other fun scraps using the QAYG method and I added some metric ribbon. I used the pattern from Elizabeth Hartman, PerfectZipBags and now I really know how to sew a reasonably, close to perfect zipper into a pouch!

I finished it. Added some inside pockets for organizing. I made a zip pull and added a side tag to pull it from a bag easily. So I'm ready for mailing!

It had to be Tula and hexies...of course!

A very small pouch for my backpack ... it won't add much weight.

mailed this today, it is my first time sewing a zipper. I was not brave enough to use the machine so I just sewed it all by hand..

I think I have amassed more than enough scraps. It's time to use them. But for this project I combined them with some new fabric which just arrived at my letter box.

I can't explain too much of the reasoning behind this otherwise 'you know who' will find out 'you know what'! Jxo

P.s. There is NO BROWN in this pouch!!!! The solid fabric is black.

Tutorial coming soon.

This project was superfun and supereasy. It took me about 45 minutes from start to finish. I stitched some fabric on the bottom to make it more durable.

This is Stanley... He's not a bad ghost, really... he's just got a spooky sense of humour!

My design

Used Noodlehead's free pattern. Made from a man's button down shirt.

One of Quiet Play "And Sew On' block of the month patterns turned into a pouch. I added a union jack ribbon tag at the side and a set of bells for the zipper pull. Inside I added an epoxy 'Handmade' label. I gave this to my partner who I also gave the Stash Cupboard mini wall hanging to!

It turned out the perfect size to hold everything.
