Well-known is the former Nottingham City Transport 666 (ARC 666T), a Leyland Atlantean with unusually-designed Northern Counties bodywork that was produced to evaluate new features and develop the Nottingham standard bus design, according to the information board in the windscreen. No more of its type were produced and hence it remains unique. The bus now lives at Ruddington in the care of the Nottingham Area Bus Society. Unusually for an Atlantean is has a turbocharged 0.690 engine, which the info board says gives exceptional performance.
While 666 may have been represented the future in 1978, one of today's cutting edge designs is adjacent. It is a Yutong U11DD battery-electric double-decker and, according to the fleet plate inside, is destined to be 30053 (YH25 CYC) with First West of England. Both are seen at a conference in Nottingham.
Z01 is a fully electric bus and one of several now operating in the Newport fleet. It was originally a demonstrator and saw service with many different companies through the country.

Battista "Pinin" Farina, the famous Italian cachbuilder always dreamt of creating a car bearing his name. In March 2019, Automobili Pininfarina unveiled the Battista. The Battista will be an all-electric hyper GT car to clients from 2020. 90 years after Battista founded Carrozzria Pininfarina, the Battista will be launched as Italy's most powerful and fastest car. Paolo Pininfarina, Michael Perschke, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina and Mahindra & Mahindra Chairman, Anand Mahindra, confirm that the limited-edition hypercard Battista will be the fastest and most powerful car ever designed and produced in Italy. Power and torque equate to 1.900 hp and 2.300 Nm respectively, meaning the Battista has the potential to accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds, faster than a Formula 1 car, and break the 250 mph top speed barrier - all with a potential zero emissions range of over 300 miles. No more than 150 Battistas will be available from late-2020.

Ebusco is a relatively recent entrant to the burgeoning battery-electric bus market. As the name suggests, the Netherlands-based company was established specifically to manufacture those products. Some of them operate in Munich, including MVG fleet number 4028. They seem to be most common on 'Museumslinie' 100, which operates between the Ostbahnhof and the Hauptbahnhof. It is leaving the latter in this shot.

Seen in Camelon at (Alexander Dennis Factory, Falkirk, Scotland on Service 1 to Maddiston.
McGill's Midland Bluebird are currently in process of receiving delivery of Yutong E12 via Pelican Bus & Coach (Yutong Global) as part of winning a round of ScotZEB Funding.
The Electric Buses which are imported from China are starting to take to the streets of Falkirk where rival UK Bus Building Firm (Alexander Dennis Ltd) is considering closing it's factory in Camelon and Larbert in order to consolidate it's operations which may lead to hundreds of staff being made redundant if this happens.
UK & Scottish Government are working closely with Alexander Dennis Ltd to ensure this does not happen and talks were held this week with plans of a 10 year pipeline in UK Zero-Emission Bus Orders as reported by Route One Magazine: www.route-one.net/news/ten-year-pipeline-of-uk-zero-emiss...
It has also been reported that Alexander Dennis Ltd has placed it's Falkirk Factory Site up for sale: www.thenational.scot/news/25358875.alexander-dennis-puts-...

Bijna 60 jaar oud en toch volkomen emissievrij. Deze VW-bus uit 1957 begon werkelijk een nieuw leven na zijn verbouwing tot 100% elektrisch. Hij begon zijn nieuwe leven in Nederland in 2011.

In use with Postbus in Graubunden canton in Switzerland are a number of battery-electric Scania Citywide models. There will be no more, as Scania has ended production of the Citywide with its move away from producing complete buses. Nevertheless, these are nice looking vehicles. Here one of them is seen in Chur carrying the traditional yellow-based livery. Seemingly these buses use opportunity charging via inverted pantograph to top-up the batteries as required.

As most of us know, the 9.5m Metrocities Stagecoach inherited from Tower Transit debuted on 29/07/23, with a full conversion on the first day - which is quite impressive, as all now we're waiting for abellio to fully convert the 322 - and then it semi-reverted to half diesel and half metrocity for the next few days, but it went back to fully electric fairly quickly (with guest 39139 on select days). These are also the first 9.5m examples of this bodywork I'm sure.
These Metrocities have had quite a smooth roll-out from the public eye. There were a few breakdowns in the first week, but that happens with pretty much every new bus now, it feels like.
I took a ride on them and they're quite nice. In my opinion, there's only a few things I'd change. For example, the seating choice doesn't feel quite right for a high specification, but I understand that it was Tower Transit who chose them and not Stagecoach. The second thing is the interior handrails in the buggy area. If you look closely here, you'll see that it's got a glass panel from top to bottom in the buggy area, and I've found that buggy users have difficulties with it juggling their buggies when that screen is there, but apart from those two things, they're really great buses, and hopefully we get more 9.5m examples in the future.
This vehicle is based at Stagecoach Lea Interchange (LI) for their 339 service. it was originally Tower Transit's OE31507 but they sold their East London operations to Stagecoach, who inherited this order in.
