The live finals of the 2016 Zero Robotics High School Tournament took place on the International Space Station on 27 January 2017. More than 100 students aged between 14 and 20 years old from across Europe met at ESA’s Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in the Netherlands. From there, students connected to the ISS, as well as to parallel events taking place in the USA and Australia. This is the fifth time that the ISS has been turned into a gaming platform for the ultimate game of robotics.

Just for bob.... advertising under the wipers on my own windscreen ahead of the Slave Zero Hatebreed Warmup Show in Cleeres on Easter Sunday.

I got my first Shinki today - a Howling. I've called her Zero.

Portrat of Alaska biker Tim Reinbold. Shot at night in zero degree weather with an 80-200mm f/2.8 lens that I could hardly see through from my fogged up glasses.

Strobist info: Photoflex TritonFlash two feet away at camera right through a medium WhiteDome. CTO gelled SB-900 zoomed and placed behind Tim and slightly to the side at camera left.

Under the concrete, there is a vast underground parking structure. The zero-gravity wall surrounds the structure and prevents pressure from forming on the wall.

An idea I hatched while working on the monthly photo assignment contest at Photoworkshop.com.

A firework, captured with a Zero Image 6x9 MF loaded with Kodak Portra 160. Exposed for the time of the display. To be fair, I am not sure this is the most photogenic of fireworks.

Possibly our bet day trip from Collioure, famous for its association with the grail mystery and the Abbe Sauniere (see here for just a taste of what is out there). Following Rennes le Chateau we went to Bugarach...and I can only encourage you to Google that (other search engines are available).

Oh, and there is a tree in the graveyard...Happy Tree Tuesday.

One of many shots taken at the utterly maginificent Cathar castle of Peyrepertuse in the French Pyrenees.

The castle occupies an amazing sight on top of a ridge dominating the surrounding valleys. From the castle you can also see the equally magnificent Queribus. We arrived at the castle in late afternoon and were immediately glad we had not arrived in the heat of the day, its a long trek to the castle.

Taking a break from projects, and the holiday madness.

Today LIPA hosts a DOE Challenge Home Training for Zero Net-Energy Ready Homes. The DOE Challenge Home label, the symbol of excellence in home building, makes it easy for consumers to identify Zero Net-Energy Ready Homes that are so efficient a small renewable energy system can offset most or all annual energy consumption.
