Almost all my large compositions are actually uncomposed beforehand. I find that in my stressful life, if I try to compose an overall drawing, the "editor" jumps right in and sabotages the effort. So until the editor gets booted, the approach is to sneak in and just start moving the pen around...

Envie de changer de style ...

Another ZIA I worked on yesterday - nothing in particular :)

Some pieces I've worked on of late

A silly 10-minute doodle

Could'nt leave it alone had to add some color just to see ... I'll send her both anyway! ... postcard ... done with Helix 0.1mm & sharpie finest point & colored pencils, also gilt with gold which ( never) shows up on scanner! :(

Random doodles

Create multiple sections on your pumpkin by drawing lines down the natural dividing dents of the gourd.

Tangle a different pattern in each section.

A little too busy but... hey! it is what it is :))

Micron 005 pens and sharpie markers

Zendala Dare #60 - the Devil that you know

After I realised I interpreted this week's Dare incorrectly, I knew exactly which Dare to revisit. It was number 35, titled 'where is my template?'. I struggled with this one - I took several attempts at scanning the cut out (used up all my colour cartridge in the process too!) I was that fed up with it that I kept procastinating, and in the end I did not finish it. So this time I went back in time, found the 3 different coloured cardstocks all ready to be tangled and here is the result. I hope you like it - was a long time coming.

thanks for looking :)

B&W negative with color added just for fun & shown from a different angle.

My latest craze - tangling on wooden coffee/tea stirrers :)

thanks for looking :)

I'ts funny how things just show up in your work sometimes ... I try to have a new project everyday ... today when I was drawing my string I was thinking about my grandaughter " Zoe " and this just appeared on my paper , so I thought I would do a coloring page for her ... kind of strange and different from my usual work, but it's for my Zoe!

31/2 x 31/2 done with Helix pen 0.1mm... just could'nt resist doing a negative & adding a purple tint to it just for fun!

Been really busy the last couple of days. I have finished all my postcards for the swap (15 plus 1 extra for good luck) - we were to use no more than 3 tangles. I loved doing these and the size is just right.

I hope you like them :)

thank you for your visit - your comments are most welcome and very much appreciated :)

Sadly these are the only images I have of my little Moleskine notebook, which I carelessly left in the back of the seat in front of me on a day out when we were in Malaysia earlier this year. My Name and address were in the front, but it's never come home. So sad. I've barely tangled since then. Time, as much as anything, but I almost feel like I'm looking out the window for a long-gone friend, expecting them to walk up the pathway....

How daft is that!?!!

I'm sure I'll get my act together soon and get tangling again. :@)

22 February 2011

(Colors are really black & white but don't show here)

Every spare minute I just love to tangle. I started this on my lunchbreak today. When I got home I 'incorrectly' chose to add 'Laced" which caused a standstill as I didn't know where to go from there...I added 'Vertigough' as I felt it was a tangle that would fit in with the piece, a few berries... at this stage it was go for all or nothing. In this case I didn't want to keep filling in the whites as it would have taken on a whole new look and I wanted the focus to be on the flower and leaves..... so my friends here is the end product. As you can see I added some colour with watercolour pencils I haven't used before. Just some cheapies and felt like chalk..... I'm quite happy with the result... thanks for looking. I've also taken a pic before I coloured in. thank you
