Another shot of Royal William Yard in Plymouth taken just after sunset on the August Bank Holiday. The sky was just hitting the blue hour but there was still a tiny bit of pink left over from the setting sun.

CSO-2, with a pair of New England Central GP38s, work Hartford yard on a hot summer afternoon in August.
The Pan Am wreck train, hauls into Waterville Yard on 3/21/2020, passing MEC 518 pumping on the cars for WAPO later that night.
After shoving into a yard track, the 3405 and the Waterville wreck set would be pulled off the rear of the train and the MEC 380, the last high hood would be taken into the shops to be drained.
380, likely the last GP40 high hood in its as-built form, would never run again and would be sidelined with a weak generator. It as well as probably 40 other Pan Am units, would meet the torch in the fall.

ST District 1 Waterville Yard
Only a few weeks old 56131 leaves Arpley Yard with 6E95 20.04 Speedlink to Harwich PQ but it mainly went to Whitemoor Yard at March. It carried the usual BOC tanks for Bernard Matthews Turkeys and was routed via Latchford and Skelton Jn. 18 June 1984.
The Providence and Worcester Railroad's WOGR crew is northbound with an 80 car empty unit ethanol train from the Shell terminal at the Port of Providence...the final one of 2024.
PW 4004, 4002 and 4005 are curling under the Slatersville Branch overpass and through Woonsocket Yard approaching the River Street crossing at MP 16.7 on the historic original Providence and Worcester mainline. The track at left climbing the ramp is the switch back connection to the 4 mile long line branch that once served Winter Street yard to the east and stretches west to its namesake town, where incidentally I grew up. Alas the branch no longer has any customers and has been silent since 2010, although when I was younger it had three active and busy customers and was served three nights a week.
As for these units PW 4004 and 4002 are standard cab B40-8s blt. Jun. 1988 as NYSW 4002 and 4008 respectively. Trailing PW 4005 is a GE B40-8W originally blt. Feb. 1992 as Santa Fe 561 respectively and was acquired in 2010 along with sisters 4006 and 4007 the latter of which has since been repainted in Genesee and Wyoming orange.

Michigan Shore's one and only crew has just completed their yard switching and head to North Muskegon and Barry Junction to work a couple customers before returning to the yard. On Muskegon Lake you can see Interlake Steamship company's Kaye E. Barker coming into town to unload stone on the dock above the train.
The 2017 Santa Train waits for the Saturday morning departure from Shelby Yard. Thanks to CSX for allowing a few of us to have a night photo session here.
This bird is a frequent visitor and mocks other birds and meows when upset. He loves oranges too and so many other bird friends in my neighborhood do.

DRS 68005 "Defiant" approaches SS North signal box as it arrives in Basford Hall yard on 22nd March 2023 with 6K06 1140 Shap to Basford Hall. The old centre of the railway universe on the LMR that was Rail House can be seen on the left of the shot, above the Independent Lines.
A couple of degraded Agfa slides. 25910+25904 propel a single diesel fuel tank from Stanlow out of Arpley Yard for onward transit to Allerton TMD, no the railwayman on the left didn't get run over. 15 September 1986.
Running on what was the CSX, formerly Pere Marquette, the Lake State Railway job from Wixom to Flint arrives the yard in Flint. The crew will tie down the train and board an already idling train in the yard for the return trip down to Wixom.
Vandaag mijn eerste foto kunnen maken van de nieuwe UnitCargo van Seelze naar Kijfhoek. De 189 025 van DBC had de eer om de trein naar Rotterdam te mogen brengen. Deze keer was de trein niet zo lang en zaten er 2 opvallende glimmende VTG gasketelwagens tussen. De trein was stipt op tijd en passeert de wel bekende plek bij Holten.
