I captured this shot while walking through an old, historical building. Nobody seemed interested in the back yard, hence the lack of people. You can just see Erddig Hall in the background. I loved it. I feel the sepia added to mood.
I've been trying for 2 weeks to get a photo of a Robin. They are running back and forth in our yard hunting for worms. This one got a few before it flew off.
I do believe this was near Port Colbourne. Nice looking truck.
One of these days I am going to buy myself one of these and it can sit on my front yard.

I believe these are Brown-belted Bumblebees, that were doing a number on the flowers in our front yard.
A piece of driftwood in a neighbor's yard in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California looks a lot like an animal. Taken with my iPhone 14 Pro Max and edited in Lightroom Classic.
We have anywhere from 5 to 50 wild turkeys that roam through our yard. I have enjoyed watching them, getting to know their sounds and behaviors. They have such beautiful color but aren't the prettiest birds in the world.

Fenced Friday
Had a little sunshine so got out and walked the fence line in my neighbour's yard with my Petzval. I love how it swirls the bokeh!
A crew has a conversation at Chicago & North Western’s yard in Boone, Iowa, on April 16, 1995. In a little over a week, Union Pacific will officially merge the C&NW into its system, a possible and likely part of what is being talked about.
Happy to see the pandemic has brought a Ruby-crowned Kinglet to the yard. Have seen its crown only once for a mini-second and it almost never stays still.

A Burlington Northern Alco RS-3 shuffles through the BN rail yard along the Willamette River north of downtown Portland, Oregon.
BN 4068 was built Great Northern Railway 231 by Alco in June 1953. By April of 1959, it would transfer to the Spokane Portland & Seattle Railway becoming SP&S 83.
As promised this weeks SNS's both feature CNW BIGS, this is a really cool shot of quite the lash at Euclid yard in Ishpeming with CNW 6701, LS&I 2300 and CNW Baldwin/EMD 1507 getting ready to depart on an Escanaba bound ore load. This was shot on April 10, 1979 and while it was fairly common for both SOO and CNW to lease out LS&I power during the winter this is getting well into spring for an LS&I to still be working off line. Wyoming may be King Coal but its in Nebraska where it all gets sorted out. Here an SD40-2 runs on remote, shuffling hoppers in Alliance's South Yard before they are sent back to Wyoming. In the background are a mix of empty trains and unit trains, built here before heading for power plants in the Midwest or South.

I recently made a trip to NY to attend a photography presentation and see a friend for lunch. While waiting for the bus, I shot several pictures of the trains at Hudson Yard just after the sun had set. I used my Nikon D750 and Tokina 100mm f2.8 for capture and Lightroom for processing.
Canadian Pacific’s local that works east out of Max, North Dakota, on the railroad’s New Town Subdivision arrives home to a chock-full Max Yard on August 28, 2018. The local this day is powered by CP EMD SD60 No. 6245 and a pair of SD30C-ECOs.
Time to relax is later. Now is the time for doing away with all (well, most) of the fallen limbs and branches that Winter hides.
btw: it's dark because it is pre-dawn. That's the only time there is no wind blowing, and safer for fire... :)

I was sitting on my porch late the other afternoon when I noticed this sweet little American Redstart darting all over one of our apple trees hunting flying insects.
The light was fading fast and I had to bump the ISO so there's some noise, but I don't see them that often in my yard so I had to get a few shots.
