I don't know if the Grand Rapids Eastern's yard has a name or not, but since it's located right at Fuller junction, "Fuller Yard" makes sense to me. Here we see the crew running to the other end of the yard as they begin their day of work. From left to right we have the main, track 1, 2, 3 and the engine house lead.

A fiery Fall sunset in my back yard a few weeks ago. It had been almost 60 degrees F during the day and quickly cooled off as the sun was setting. The sun had been heating things up all day, so the clouds retained beautiful, warm colors. I didn't think of composition, rule of thirds, or any photographic "rules", I lust walked into the back yard and took 2 shots. Currently, the trees are bare and fall is quickly turning to winter.

Some new additions to the yard recently. (Thanks to the mister having some extra time to work in the yard.)

I was intrigued that this adult mockingbird showed the new, mostly white outer tail feathers partly grown in. We have had a juvenile mockingbird in the yard and its crisp new plumage is fairly similar--there are differences-- but of course with fully grown flight and tail feathers.

I think I will continue this series

Ah, the"old levitation shot" certainly not original but I've been wanting to try one. Couple of things I'd do over - take the rim light away as I find it doesn't help the "believability" of the shot, should have just stayed with the natural light. Also, probably should of raised the camera up enough so I don't see the underside of me. In reality my loose shorts would be hanging down more. Okay, now that I've pointed out a few glaring errors...

Anyway, having fun with this series and learning stuff along the way.

Hudson Yards se acerca a su ápice, una actualización del megaproyecto

At 55 Hudson Yards, the 780-foot office building designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox in collaboration with Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates, glass cladding is rising into place.

The building’s exterior is inspired by early modernism, and if you squint hard enough it’s easy to recognize a likeness in period architecture icon the Seagram Building. And 55 Hudson Yards will be a Seagram of sorts, but for a new era. Today developer Related Companies announced that law firm Cooley LLP has signed on for 130,000 square feet over five floors towards the top of the 51-story building.

The building is still making its ascent, but is poised to top out any day now and open in 2018.

Meanwhile, 30 Hudson Yards continues to rise to its 1,296-foot apex. As of now, the Kohn Pedersen Fox-designed building is still shorter than its neighbor at 55 Hudson Yards. The office building will eventually become the New York home base of companies like CNN, HBO, Time Warner, and two of the biggest developers of the neighborhood: Related and Oxford Properties Group. Construction is expected to wrap up on 30 Hudson Yards in 2019.

Grade II listed main entrance to the former Royal Clarence Victualling Yard Weevil Lane Gosport Hampshire. Established in 1828 one of two principal victualling yards for the Royal Navy the other in Plymouth, Royal Clarence was closed in 1995, all of the site is now preserved but converted to residential and other uses.

I was shocked & thrilled to look out my window and see a northern flicker at my water fountain. First time in my yard, normally a forest kind of bird. We had a rare heavy snow and extreme cold day which means tons of bird action in my yard. I keep my fountain going with a stock tank heater and it brings them in. The flicker ignored my suet and just went for the water. The robin seems puzzled as to who this large intruder is.

The cobbled streets and brick arches are home to a mix of independent shops and signature brands from home and abroad . The restaurants all have heated terraces so you can dine outside or inside, year-round .
