With the rolling terrain between Currabubula and Werris Creek imitating the curves of a logarithmic graph, it is appropriate that 8165/8155 should be hauling logs. Originating in Tamworth, this short-lived traffic temporarily provided an opportunity to photograph something other than the daily Xplorer north of Werris Creek.
The Canberra (ACT) bound Xplorer having its driver's window cleaned at Sydney (NSW) Central Station.
As the headlight beam breaks up the empty night, 4702 paired with 4701 charge towards Armidale between Kentucky and Uralla on NK81 AK Cars to stable for the weekend. The train had spent the day in Werris Creek and followed the Xplorer north.
Passing through East Maitland, Xplorer 2501 is bound for Armidale, with a split at Werris Creek for the last 3 cars to head to Moree.
As the Xplorers negotiate the curve, they are in the process of overtaking XRN028, XRN012 & another of the class, leading a long, empty coal train from PWCS Kooragang coal terminal to load at Glencore Coal's Mount Owen Mine.

Volvo B7RLE / Wright Eclipse Urban 2 B44F new 10/2009 , in Midsomer Norton on the new service 172 from Paulton to Bath introduced on 4th Sept 2016.
12 of these buses which were ordered for First Somerset in Bath were diverted to the Bristol fleet. All of this batch left Bristol early in 2015 , mostly in exchange for double deckers from Leicester, but 69457 and 69458 were transferred to First Somerset and Avon at Marlborough Street , subsequently returning to First Bristol at Hengrove where they were useful spares for service A1 to Bristol Airport.
69457 was transferred to Wells depot of First Somerset and Avon in January 2016 to replace non DDA compliant B10BLEs.
After a few months at Marlborough Street it was the first to be painted in Mendip Xplorer blue and gold livery like the Streetdecks and was transferred in Sept 2016 back to Wells which now has all 14 of the remaining 59 regd Volvos once again.
69457 was repainted in Bath City blue livery in September 2020.
With the Moree Xplorer out of the way and en route to Werris Creek, 4702 freshly painted in tuscan paired with 4701 sit patently in Boggabri loop awaiting the road on NK81 AK Cars from Werris Creek to North Star. Both the 47s are on loan from Lachlan Valley Railway and are crewed by SRS.
Identical to the Explorer cars, 30 cars were built by ABB in Dandenong for Countrylink from 1994.
They were numbered TE2801 to TE2815 and LE2851 to LE2865 although in a later refurbishment, cars TE2815 and LE2865 were renumbered to Xplorer cars EA2508 and EC2528.

4204 and 42103 bring the return Blue Suede Express into Forbes station.
Despite this station formally closing in 1990, two passenger services called here on this day 30 years later. Typically this annual train to Parkes uses the main west, however this year it was diverted via the main south as bushfires had closed the west. Trains with passengers onboard are rare visitors on this line. Although over the coming months, the Broken Hill Xplorer would transverse this route in service.
