Having spent an hour or two in Weston SM trying to see the Badgerline Eclipse in service to no avail it was found at the depot along with these five Wright Streetdecks which are yet to enter service on the 376 between Wells and Bristol. Carrying First Mendip names and branded as the Mendip Xplorer. Seen here are (L-R): -

Interworked Services 38 (Neath-Skewen-Jersey Marine-Swansea) and X5 (Neath-Briton Ferry-Swansea) have become a regular haunt for the B9TLs, and she is captured on West Way in Swansea when operating the former in August 2025.

Class leader XP2000 and XP2006 bring the return Elvis Express into Forbes station.
Despite this station formally closing in 1990, two passenger services called here on this day 30 years later. Typically this annual train to Parkes uses the main west, however this year it was diverted via the main south as bushfires had closed the west. The XPT is a rare visitor on this line and even more so with passengers onboard as seen here stopping at Forbes station. Over the coming months, the Broken Hill Xplorer, another passenger train, would also transverse this route in service.

Shortly after arriving at the first location of our short chase of Great Southern Rails new luxury passenger train, we discussed with fellow enthusiasts the luck we'd need to get a cross with the down Xplorer service to Griffith, which was due along shortly.
Somehow luck was on our side as SP41 to Griffith via Junee rolled through the frame mere seconds before 6AT8 began climbing out of Gunning. A few seconds later and it would have blocked the luxury train. A few seconds too early and you'd never have known the diminutive diesel railcar had even been through.
Sometimes life hands you a win, and if that's how we're going to end 2019, I'm pretty okay with it.

XP2017 leads ST24 to Sydney through the Horseshoe curve within the town of Harden. Despite NSW TrainLink operating these trains since 2013, branding has yet to appear on the former CountryLink fleet. There is currently plans to replace this fleet with more modern rollingstock too, however a repaint has been promised of the current XPT and Xplorer fleet.
