An Officer and a member of the public argue about which direction he is going to go in, he lost the argument. Seems to me that there is an awful lot of pointing involved in modern day policing.
Just north of Mildred, Kansas, found an abandoned service station. Looked like only sightseers, and us, had been inside in many years. This older dial phone was sitting on and old heater.
Inevitably, a train shows up going the opposite direction of what you were planning. In this instance, I even had the strobes set up to light up the nose of a northbound along the bluffs at Savanna, IL. You can see the result on the nose of the trailing unit on this southbound stack train...
Ava, on the Yesler Swamp trail at the Center for Urban Horticulture. I think she was going back the way we came, since I happen to have a picture of Evan in the same spot from the end of the hike.
I knew there was a really nice aquarium on Sentosa Island, but I had not looked it up on a map. So when I stumbled upon Underwater World I naturally assumed this was the aquarium that advertised world's largest viewing panel. Due to misplaced expectations I was pretty underwhelmed by the place.
We made the trek to Corbin in pursuit of M542 with a string of 7 Dash 8s and 9s heading for storage in Huntington. As you can see, there are no Dash 8s nor Dash 9s- you win some and you lose some.
Spotted on the 3rd day of the BIG RIB BBQ and Blues 'fest. Nine days after Independence Day celebrations and he looked a little miffed that none of the Blues bands were playing Yankee Doodle Dandy...

Amtrak 392 passes through the short crossover at Tolono onto the southbound main for nine miles of wrong-main running to Champaign.
A washout during a torrential rain storm undermined the northbound main one night, leaving the track impassible. All northbound trains were run wrong-main to Champaign.
Since IC was already in the midst of its massive single-tracking project through Illinois this year, the signal engineering office rushed the CTC design for the Champaign-Tolono segment into service after a few weeks of cumbersome track warrant operation for every northbound train.
The CTC remained in control of the operators at respective ends of the system until the towers were closed – Tolono in 1992 and Champaign in 1993.

More photos taken in Cambridge on Saturday 28 March 2015.
As we were in the area for another reason we made a visit to Cambridge. A lovely city with lots to see.
A busy Saturday, lots of shoppers and also, surprisingly, lots of graduates graduating.
We tried to work out when they would have finished their exams and, perhaps wrongly, that they may have waited a long time for the official ceremony to happen? Our guess is that they must have done their finals last May?
In most universities the graduation ceremonies happen in late summer or early Autumn, i.e. September or October. So finding grads. in Cambridge on a windy day in March was a bit of a surprise.
Cambridge has a very good market with lots of vendors selling anything from food to eat there and then and food to take home. The one bread shop in the market had some fabulous bread on display. Not cheap but it did look extremely well made and probably tasty!
Other stalls had everything from hats, scarfs, bikes, ukulele’s, guitars; in fact a whole host of merchandise if you wanted to spend money.
We came across a violin playing tight rope walker to a lovely young lady named Jo who was out with her friends for her hen party. I got chatting to Jo and found out she was getting married in five weeks or so and she came from Leicester. Her friend Angelina was from the Essex borders. They were both very pleasant and, despite some reluctance, allowed me to take their photo.
Another party I came across were from Australia but working in London. Adrian, an accountant, hails from Adelaide but is very happy to be working in London, despite the British climate!
A lovely day, lots of photographs of people on the streets and if you’re viewing them I hope you find something you like.
