Amtrak 392 passes through the short crossover at Tolono onto the southbound main for nine miles of wrong-main running to Champaign.
A washout during a torrential rain storm undermined the northbound main one night, leaving the track impassible. All northbound trains were run wrong-main to Champaign.
Since IC was already in the midst of its massive single-tracking project through Illinois this year, the signal engineering office rushed the CTC design for the Champaign-Tolono segment into service after a few weeks of cumbersome track warrant operation for every northbound train.
The CTC remained in control of the operators at respective ends of the system until the towers were closed – Tolono in 1992 and Champaign in 1993.
OK, techinically it wasn't a wrong turn as much as a missed turn. But the river running through the road should have been a big clue that we should turn around. But I'm a little stubborn, and with my 4WD I kept forging on until the dirt road just sort of disappeared. Then we backtracked and found the turn we missed and made our way into Taos.
Oh yeah, I need to give credit to my friend and awesome traveling partner, Mary Lou, for this one. I was too busy: 1. trying to not get stuck in the mud (ML's teenage son was sitting in the back just knowing he would be pushing us out of the mud at some point ... luckily he was wrong) and 2. laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my cheeks. (ML's younger teenage son said that laughing adds 7 minutes to your life ... if that's true, this little adventure added about 2-3 days to my life!)
Dorking West - the zone markings for the 'new' four car bi-mode class 769s have been applied in reverse order! Despite my advising GWR over a year ago, they remain uncorrected, possibly because the 769s may never actually appear, given the continuing problems with them.
Yep, instead of heading north to Arctic Tundra, this male snowy seems to be going in the wrong direction.
A photo I took inspired by Big Finish Productions' audio drama "The Wrong Doctors" and to show my appreciation for Colin Baker.
this is the Arthur Ravenel Bridge leading from Charleston to Mount Pleasant. we took it by accident...because i was being a bad navigator for my wife, but it was a pretty ride and only added 10 mins or so + a u-turn to our trip. last pictures i got of this thing were from the previous trip and were profile in nature.

City Bulldog lets me know the giant toad doesn't belong in the red wagon. He says, "You always plant flowers in that wagon so small toads have a place to hide!" I need to clean the leaves out of this area and have Suzy pick out some flowers this week. The giant toad will end up in the vicinity.
The yellow SUV entered Pena Blvd the wrong way and collided head-on with the minivan at the I-70 exit. Fortunately no one lost their life but there were plenty of broken bones in both vehicles. I came up on the collision within a couple of minutes after it occured and no emergency vehicles were on scene yet.

Some bulls are trained in such a way that when they are out of the "Vaadivasal" they straight away go for the first guys on the left and right side of the gate. Unless experienced, its a very dangerous place to hold ground.
