As shadows deepen, CP SD70ACU 7005 leads a UP GE east with Chicago-bound junk freight on the Watertown Subdivision at 115th Street, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Operation here is normally directional, with westbounds using the right-hand (north) track, and eastbounds the left (south). Westbounds normally ascend Brookfield Hill on the less-steep north main, and eastbounds descend on the steeper south, but utilizing crossovers at Duplainville and at Grand Avenue in Milwaukee, this can be flipped as required- occasionally, Amtrak will use this arrangement to overtake a freight moving in the same direction.

Yours Truly is snapped by his old chum mountainmike1 on the sea wall whilst snapping last Wednesday's 10.06 PAD - PNZ.
I shot this one on our first visit to this spot but I had saved it to my landscape photography folder for my other Flickr account under Paul Spencer. So was fairly surprised to see it there. A fairly simple 180 rotation of Dave stood on the bridge after an agonising hike to the not so lost bridge. With Matt adding a little background lighting.

A Coney Island-bound (Q) shuttle, sporting the old diamond bullet, approaches Ocean Pkwy. The shuttle was operating on an absolute block, meaning it could move whichever direction it needed to as it was the only train allowed between Brighton Beach and Stillwell Ave.

Recycling contamination is an issue pretty much everywhere; I don’t think you get too many regions where every resident recycles perfectly. Even in a council like The Hills where recycling is at a pretty good standard and heavy, you still get dopes who play their own game and overflow general waste into the yellow topped bin. Sometimes you can pin them and other times they’re unpredictable. Being a floater driver I don’t know what to expect from a particular property, so I empty the bin and the stuff goes through... or not if I can help it :D I have done a few rural runs in The Hills and I’ve found recycling is quite good the majority of the time, but occasionally you get the bins filled with stuff that shouldn’t be in there. I came across this house at the end of a street with two bins, which I see as a plus when you assume it’s extra recycling. To my disappointment I saw a big cube of green-waste come out of the first bin, and without even thinking about checking the second bin, the same material fell out with some other rubbish mixed in. I almost took off not worrying, but I quickly stopped the packer, engaged the handbrake, got my gloves on and went hopper diving. You just hope they ring up the council and complain so they establish themselves as a complete twat. I felt proud when I drove past twice and saw my efforts on display - Mitch the waste education enforcer hehe
