Having supposed to enter from the eastern end of Washwood Heath RMC, the Colas tamper instead ran to Duddeston to run around and head in the other way. The Tamper had worked from Rugby, with a reversal at Walall.

Something went wrong, terribly wrong.

a good good friend of mine from back when. this was ben's first tattoo and he was pretty stoked to get it. funny story because i wanted to go with him to the shop when he got it done, but he insisted on going it alone. sure enough, the dumbass tattoo artist messed up part of it by coloring in the wrong part. that's why you should always bring a friend :)

too bad the tattoo artist ruined one of the moons, it would've been such a rad tattoo. i believe he eventually got sick of people telling him it was wrong and got them all filled in to solid black. and got a bible passage underneath it...

The abandoned house takes the center, there are phone lines, sun flare and the sun is behind the house. However, I was dealing with thick weeds and possible rattlesnakes (me in sandals), and a no trespassing road - so it is what it is, but I couldn't resist that sky.

Spot the painting error, its just so stupid and obvious. The owner hasn't a clue to still be driving around like it. Defo not a military guy. MONG.

Second time in 14 hours that old livery led new livery.

Friday morning's 6C22 Kingmoor - Sellafield conveyed the Dounreay flask from the previous day's marathon trip from Georgemas Junction.

Nos.37218 & 37607 were in the frame and the forecast was for goodly sunshine around the coast early doors.

The plan went wrong threefold;

1) Wrong loco led.

2) Location choice of field at Nethertown full of cows & 1 x bull. No way was I going in there.

3) Cloud.

So, relocation to bridge, extremely weak sun j-u-u-u-st far enough around & 607 leading 218.

Dounreay flask is bookended by PFAs, not sure where the leading flask originated.

After observing most of the locomotives leaving the shift change at Dongbolizhan we headed to the pit to photograph the first loaded train of the day. A fellow British enthusiast, Doug, was also at the shift change and had already made his way down to the lineside with guide Jun where he informed us on our arrival that the line was not operating normally.

A landslip had occurred overnight, possibly caused by one of the numerous underground fires and had made the ground by part of the line unstable. Management were keen to repair the slip as soon as possible so spoil was being excavated from half along the line between the pit and Kengkouzhan in order to fill in the unstable area. JS class no.8081 and it's rake of coal wagons had been commandeered and was sitting on the nominal up line out of the pit being loaded with spoil which meant those trains being loaded with coal would have to use the normal down line when running to one of the unloading points. JS class no.8190 is seen on the climb out of the pit running wrong road with one of the first loaded coal trains after the morning shift change on 16th February 2017.

Power being shuffled around the engine terminal in Galesburg gives the impression that a B30-7AB will lead this outbound. Silly B unit, you can't lead although equipped with a hostler control stand in the nose I believe.

We watched this pride of lion getting chased by Buffalos.

The lions were mainly youngsters and they did not look really scared of the buffalos. It seemed like it was a funny game for them.

This was a crowded sighting.

If I put the wider angle one on, I could have gotten the SOO caboose that was on the siding to the right. Shot just west of Mona Iowa.
