WPs 7125 and 7056 wait for departure from Vadodara with 55 Fast Pass on 20/10/78. Not the best of shots, I'm afraid, Kodachrome II is a bit limited after sunset, but this is the only shot I have of a double-header on BG passenger. From memory the load was 20 or 21 bogies.
This formation is all that is left of a complex of palm trees that used to house a mutlichambered nest, home of a local monk parakeet community.
On February 22, 1973, Peter Arnold captured Western Pacific EMD GP20 2001 in San Jose, California.
Looking a little worse for wear here, it received the "Perlman Green" paint scheme with orange lettering not too long after this photo.
If my sources are correct, this was the first GP20 built by EMD, predating even the demonstrators. Only WP and the Great Northern bought their GP20s with high short hoods.
WP 2001 is now at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum (WPRM) in Portola, California, and has been restored to its original silver and orange California Zephyr-inspired scheme.
