Just over two years after Western Pacific merged into the Union Pacific, a WP GP35 finds itself about 45 miles from home rails in Provo, Utah the afternoon of Jan. 20, 1984.
The 2500 HP general purpose road switcher was built by EMD for the WP in Nov. 1963, and by March 1984, renumbered to UP 786. In 1993, it was sold to Watco, becoming Eastern Idaho Railroad 786.

Chavakkad Beach is the place where the sea confluences with a river. This meeting of the sea with the river is known as Azhimokam in Kerela. The beaches at Chavakkad and Nattika are simply wonderful.

Forty four years ago plus one day from the date of this photo being posted, dad and I were chasing a dogs breakfast of a lash up on the WP’s San Jose Turn, seen here rounding the curve at Altamont with Bob Black photo bombing my shot.
