This mixed-media piece began as a black and white photograph I took of my younger sister whilst asleep with a handful of worry dolls. I expanded from this narrative theme in a series of media, but in this piece the original photograph was overlayed with acrylic paint and then dititally processed, adding over the image a hand-written and intimate stream-of-consciousness monologue of teenage anxieties. This conjecture into the reasons behind the worry dolls turned the picture into a story, and using photoshop I pulled out individual letters to create a graphic slogan; echoing the reassurance of the worry dolls.
