I wanted to try and capture the beauty I saw in the decay when I came upon the weathered and worn old door of the Rose Inn - situated in the 1830's abandoned village of Hartley in the Central Tablelands, New South Wales.

The trip was coming to an end. After a few days of photography and tourism I was worn out. As usual there were a few things left on the list to photograph but those could be left to next time.
Up the stairs like the last shot, we found ourselves in a big old car park (not even deliberate this time!) which I think is used to access the railway. My eyes were drawn to the rather more impressive Beetham Tower though, enjoying the different coloured lights throughout the building. Not too many people were still up but I like that the time of night creates a patchwork of lights in the windows.
Did a back roads trip in Pittsfield, NH. What a beautiful town with lost of old farms and lots of farm land. Love the color of this barn and what leaves are that are left on the trees. Pittsfield, NH USA

Macro Mondays Theme: Imperfect
I struggled with this theme for some reason, not sure why. I took other shots but they didn't quite fit the theme when I reread the details. I posted one of them anyway, just not to this group. Not sure I'm completely happy with this shot... I may delete...
I have had more inspiration today and have retaken my shot and replaced the original worn wood. So some comments may not make sense. I hope that's OK with the admins.
The book is The History of England printed in 1807, so it's not doing too badly for 218 years old!

The Macro Monday theme for 7/24 is buckle. (The admin said we could use a toggle and I extrapolated that to include a clasp, also.) We have a dearth of typical belts, so I went hunting for stand-ins. There are a few possibilities so I’ll dither, naturally.

NS 1073, the Penn Central heritage locomotive, leads NS W3K westbound at CP Robertson on the St Louis District. This engine is easily one of the crappiest looking heritage locos on the NS system

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland.
A single use surgical-style face mask worn to the point that it is fluffy. That mask must be a Petri dish of disease in itself!
With a two metre distancing guideline still in force in Scotland and my usual style of getting closer than that in my candid shots, I found it really difficult to judge the distance and consequently had to crop this shot a little more than I would like. Stay safe everyone!
