Here are some of Nostradamus’ predictions for 2021: 1. Zombie Apocalypse A Russian scientist will create a biological weapon and produce a virus that can turn humankind into zombies, and we will all be extinct in the near future. “Few young people: half−dead to give a start. Dead through spite, he will cause the others to shine, And in an exalted place some great evils to occur: Sad concepts will come to harm each one, Temporal dignified, the Mass to succeed. A Famine of Biblical Proportions Nostradamus predicted that the first signs of the end of the world would be famine, earthquakes, different illnesses, and epidemics, which are already happening more frequently. The Coronavirus pandemic from 2020 represents the beginning of a series of unfavorable events, which will affect the world’s population. The famine that lurks is one the world had never faced before. A catastrophe of huge proportions will throw us back in history, and a great part of the world population will not be able to overcome this curse. “After great trouble for humanity, a greater one is prepared, The Great Mover renews the ages: Rain, blood, milk, famine, steel, and plague, Is the heavens fire seen, a long spark running.” Starting from 2020, after 248 years, Saturn in Capricorn united its forces with Pluto, which is also in Capricorn, in the remarkable conjunction that will change the fate of the world. Saturn in Capricorn is responsible for social hierarchies, state power, authority, functions, and status, and this is what the conjunction with Pluto, the planet of death, destruction, and reconstruction triggered. 3. Once it enters the Earth’s atmosphere, the asteroid will heat up, appearing in the sky like a great fire. NASA announced that a huge asteroid is likely to hit the Earth in the next years after the American agency emits alerts daily, only this time, it is something more serious. An asteroid called 2009 KF1 has chances to hit the Earth on May 6th of 2021, the NASA coming to this conclusion, following analyzes regarding its trajectory. NASA claims that this asteroid has the power to hit the Earth with the equivalent of 230 kilotons of TNT explosive force, which means 15 times more than the nuclear bomb detonated by Americans over Hiroshima in 1945. 5. A Devastating Earthquake Will Destroy California According to the interpretation of a quatrain written by Nostradamus, an extremely powerful seism will destroy California in 2021. Nostradamus predicts that a great earthquake will hit the New World (“the western lands”), and California is the logical place where it might happen. According to the astrologers, “Mercury in Sagittarius, Saturn fading”, the following date when the planets Mars and Saturn will be in this position on the sky will be on November 25th of 2021. Nostradamus’ quatrain: “The sloping park, great calamity, Through the Lands of the West and Lombardy The fire in the ship, plague, and captivity; Mercury in Sagittarius, Saturn fading.” 6. The American Soldiers Will Have Brain Chip Implants The American soldiers will be turned into a kind of cyborgs, at least at the brain level, to save the human race. This chip should offer us the necessary digital intelligence to progress beyond the limits of biological intelligence. This could mean that we will incorporate artificial intelligence into our bodies and brains. I've posted my table before, but as I was thinking about the prompt today, and looking, I realized that my table with supplies changes almost daily. This morning I used watercolor and ink. On the right side are my current journals, on the left are paint pans, and inks, pens, pencils, and crayons are along the top. As footnote to my Devil's Tail Press I issue miniature books under the name of the Half Penny Press - appropriately printed on small British-made printing presses. I decided (actually my wife decided, because she doesn't seem to like Steelcase office furniture in the living room) to move my small worktable to my garage shop. A complete book-bindery on a 36" x 24" table. With much labor and moving of heavy things, I shoe-horned this small table into a corner of the shop, with the intent of having a dedicated work-space for my miniature book projects. Currently I have several dozen sets of leather-bound book earrings to complete. No rest for the wicked.

I added grommets to the table to help control wires and cables , two with USB hubs and one with an iPhone dock.
I swept up the scrap from my worktable and added a few shavings of translucent to it. I feel you can never go wrong adding a bit of gold and/or translucent to your mix!
I had so much fun with this painting this morning! The board covered with collage had been kicking around the studio for months. Today it made it to the worktable. I almost never use brown, but I am loving the layers and depth in this one. 12x12 on board.
Some tentacle alteration and addition of tiny ones around the mouth. He's also got some wide-set eyeballs.
There are three stores in the South of Market Area of downtown San Francisco within a few blocks of each other that Melody and I shop about once a week. Trader Joe's is one of our regular stops and Melody buys cut flowers besides groceries. Tulips are in season March and April, so tulips it has been for the last couple of weeks. I made this photo of a bunch of tulips that Melody had arranged in a vase on her quilting worktable set up at one end of our kitchen. They were on a table that had lots of distractions; so I managed to capture this image by moving back from the subject and using the blank kitchen wall as the backdrop. That worked better than trying to shoot them from up close.

Shot with available light from an open, big double door that's behind the camera position. This is inside an abandoned auto shop/tire repair place in the middle of the Nevada desert at the junction of highways 6 and 379. It is funky and dusty, the size of a small warehouse. To my photographer's eye, it was alluring, with picked-over remnants of the business scattered and left behind... and horse poop on the dirt floor. (I'm guessing wild horses found shelter here during a rain storm.)
This is our next-to-last upstairs stained glass window, number 4 of 5 on the east side of the house, out of fourteen all told. They're about 6 feet tall, or 2 meters. This one is about to be placed in front of a cat perch on the 2nd floor. The clear area in the center of the design is right in front of the perch so they can look out upon the world and doze in the sun. It needs cleaning -- still a bit messy from the worktable, but it's done! We'll be putting it in the window within a few hours, but I wanted to get a shot of it first, as all of it won't be unobstructed from the inside once it's installed. I took the photo on the front ramp to the house.

What's on my worktable? I'm working on my Fan Fold Designs tutorial and I just finished up these 3 leaf designs. They show 2, 4 and 6 fold examples of this particular design. The tutorial will have about 7 different designs that use the fan fold idea. I've posted my round ones with a central focal point some time ago. I'll get a gallery of images going soon. Couldn't decide which background colour I preferred so I'll show you both!

Elias Howe, who invented the sewing machine, received a patent in 1851 for an "Automatic, Continuous Clothing Closure". Perhaps because of the success of his sewing machine, he did not try to seriously market it, and missed out on any recognition he might otherwise have received. Forty-two years later, Whitcomb Judson, who invented the pneumatic street railway, marketed a "Clasp Locker". The device was similar to Howe's patent, but actually served as a (more complicated) hook-and-eye shoe fastener. With the support of businessman Colonel Lewis Walker, Whitcomb launched the Universal Fastener Company to manufacture the new device. The clasp locker had its public debut at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and met with little commercial success.
Gideon Sundbäck, a Swedish-American electrical engineer, was hired to work for the Universal Fastener Company in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1906. Good technical skills and a marriage to the plant-manager's daughter Elvira Aronson led Sundbäck to the position of head designer. After his wife's death in 1911, he devoted himself to the worktable, and by December 1913 had designed the modern zipper.
Sundbäck increased the number of fastening elements from four per inch to ten or eleven, introduced two facing rows of teeth that pulled into a single piece by the slider, and increased the opening for the teeth guided by the slider. The patent for the "Separable Fastener" was issued in 1917. Sundbäck also created the manufacturing machine for the new device.
