Made w/ many different scraps from the worktable, still trying to clean up. Think I finally made a dent.
Exiting her cramped confines, she took a moment to stretch her legs. The other half-dozen operating cabinets were lined like office cubicles of old. At some point the operatives had started referring to it as ‘The Arcade’, for obvious reasons.
From the Arcade it was just a short walk into the main workshop area of the makerspace. The stuffy smell of solder, spray paints, and industrial lubricants caked the air. Light-tube fixtures overhead bathed the room in a steady dull white. Worktables split the room into aisles, with workbenches and tool cabinets lining the outer walls.
Over the years the operatives had tried to spruce up the space; fixing posters, old Christmas lights, or any other oddities along the walls to create some visual interest to their surroundings.
Surplus robotic limbs and body parts hung off hanging rods along the ceiling. Some compared the scene to a butcher’s house, others a drycleaner; depending on your personal disposition.
Toward the middle of the room, Paul Fugitt sat on a roller stool hunched over a Rootlet light utility chassis. A welding mask was over his face, though he was currently doing no welding.
Watching over him was Mac Bradford and one of his underlings, Delaney. They were remote presence workers part of Pittsburgh’s Construction Corps. Bradford and his crew were semi-regulars through the shop, coming in every now and again for spare parts or help with repairs.
Kelly leaned against a nearby workbench and joined the small audience. The men noticed her as she approached, while Paul remained fully engrossed in his work.
“Hey Kel’.” Bradford said in his usual gruff voice. “Happy hunting?”
“That remains to be seen.” she shrugged casually. “Paul still fixing your toy?”
“ ’d be nice if he showed me how to do it myself.” Delaney said. He sounded like his patience was running thin.
“You want it done, or you want it done right?” Paul mumbled under his mask, not diverting his attention away from the proxy.
“Knowing Paul, he’s just making sure he knows how to do it right.” Kelly chided in, nodding toward him.
“Well the kid already shorted out my wire group ten minutes ago, so that ain’t saying much.”
“Nearly blinded himself from the arc.” Bradford chuckled.
“Don’t blame me for shitty color-coding.” Paul muttered, before adding " ‘Think its rated one way when it really isn’t…”
“Excuses, excuses.“ Kelly teased.
He ignored her, carrying on with his work.

Sorry this scene took so long. It ended up being a lot more complicated than I expected. Me being all weird with my cinematic angles and such. Plus I decided to experiment with focus stacking, which added a whole other aspect to deal with.
And to further throw a wrench in the progress of the story; I finally got a job. I still don't have a full grasp on my hours, so I don't know how it will impact my free time. I'll try to pump out a few more entries over the weekend. Don't be surprised if progress continues with this slow schedule.
If you fave, comment as well!
The Dallas Morning News did an article about me and my ideas for organizing my craft space. Photo by Louis DeLuca. Blogged here: Allsorts
This is a study about communication. A friend going to the store asked if I needed anything. "Sure! Some potatoes, please." To me, 'a couple of' means 2. 'A few' means 3 or 4.' 'Some' could be 5 -7.' Then a bunch of, then a lot of.... Seventeen potatoes is a LOT.' My place is so small. I have had desks and worktables larger than my kitchen. 17 potatoes is a real invasion.
I've seen more than a few LEGO Severus Snape posts today. But, by a strange coincidence, I've had a minifigure of a different Alan Rickman character on my worktable for the past couple of weeks. This wasn't the way I was planning to reveal it, but today it seemed appropriate.
LEGO Hans Gruber will show up again in my feed later this year. For now, I want to remember a man who made good films great and bad films watchable.
Good night, sweet (Half-Blood) Prince...
If you're reading this....Hi Flickr friends! This year I haven't been very productive because my kids are 1 and 4 now. I am busy with enjoying them, chasing around my 15 month-old son, playing the 'pretend game' with my 4-year-old 'Elsa' (I am given the role of 'Anna' of course). Every time I put my fingers on my own miniature toys, they will have to join in me. My daughter asks for my toys to be placed in her dollhouse, my son tastes everything that he grabs lol. Anyway, they are so cute, and I feel so blessed to have two real dolls in my life. I always peek on Flickr to enjoy all your photos and really appreciate them because they bring smile on my face all the time. Please pardon me if I sometimes don't have time or forget to reply.
New for We Love RP, opening July 4!
A nice battered worktable for all herbalists, witches, alchemists, and more!
Love these Finger Ding girls!! They've been waiting patiently on my worktable for a chance at their time in the spotlight : )
Our powerful arms lift a sleeping brother from his bed and carry him to our worktable. Shards of metal of all shapes and colors rest in orderly piles, ready for their time to be used. We lift one and begin to shape it with a heatstone.
Hours pass with only the hiss of sparks breaking the silence of the Nest. Our brother has begun to take on a new shape, one far larger and more powerful than before.
After all, that is why they call us The Builder.
After Onuku's team fell, he ran from the Order across the Universe, eventually awakening and becoming captured by Bohrok, enslaved and forced to use his engineering knowledge to build them into stronger forms.
This comes from a mandelbulb3d image of a couple os shiny broken globes and a Sisely still life. On this work table there are imabes that look very much like the versions of those images used in the deep dream process, Of course this could all be the wreck of the yellow submarine or some sort of night horse or something else.
Sometimes I like my worktable cluttered, but my actual area to work has shrunk so it's time to clean up!

“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.”
J.R.R Tolkien, The Hobbit, Chapter I: AN UNEXPECTED PARTY
Welcome to the Shire. The starting and ending point of the famous books and films “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings”.
It is a perfect place to relax, read and fill your hobbit stomach with plenty of delicious food.
The Hobbit hole consists of 5 different rooms. A nice kitchen with a big table, a full storage chamber, a cosy living room with a fireplace and a worktable, an entrance room to welcome invited and uninvited guests and like all hobbit holes it has a round tunnel that connects the rooms.
I would suggest that it would include the minifigures: Frodo, Sam, Bilbo, the 13 dwarves and of course Gandalf.
Please support this creation and help it to become an official Lego Set.
Remember, it doesn’t cost you anything and you would do me a big favour.
So I think, I sit here and think.. I'm working on new land. Even the home I built is back the worktable while I learn more about correcting the physics, at last, in one fell imagined swoop in blender. A trail has led me back to the Scarlet Creative, where I see she's made all these homes for friends who inspired her and frankly we think alike. Here I am, standing in a gorgeous Prefab. I'm working on a film, and have another on the table long over due. Fall is swallowing the warm comfortable night. and now... when I try out a section of film on You-Tube ... or Daily Motion.. and make it unlisted .. or private... repeated in the comment box is "this a work in progress, please respect that and don't share" ahhhh, life is good right?

This is my place, my space, and my happy! It is where I create, write, and think and ponder. I love this moment. It is what I see when I walk into my studio early in the morning before any lights or machines are turned on. It is raw, exciting, messy, and all mine. #cy365 day341 'my wonderland'
