My co-workers at Winneshiek County Conservation sponsor a fishing derby on Lake Meyer every winter around Valentine's Day. It's meant to be a fun event for the whole family to get outside and try to catch a few fish. They kindly give me - the old timer - a cushy job of official weigh-in captain, so I get to see every big fish that's caught. Here's a nice northern pike that won 1st place in its class.

As soon as each apple blossom has attracted a bee and been pollinated, it's job is done. Now it's up to the tree's seasonal workers, the leaves, to help the young apples develop into fruition. This image celebrates these leaves and the work they do during the 6 month growing season.

映画の後、満席のスタバに嫌気がさして避難してきたHIKARIEの展望室。ベンチソファーで寛ぎながら目をやると、人知れず仕事に励む人がいました。
I went to Shibuya.
After the movie, I was fed up with the full Starbucks, so I evacuated to the observatory of HIKARIE. When I looked around while relaxing on the bench sofa, I saw people silently working hard.
The winter morning shadows in Richfield County Park highlight the efforts of the WPA development here in the late 1930s, such as infrastructure (the "highway" bridge shown), tree planting ,etc.
Honnêtement, ce jour du 14 décembre 2022 était une journée en or pour la photo de rue, alors ne vous étonnez pas si vous en voyez d'autres à venir... :-)
C'est tout le problème des jours fastes : il faut quand même bien choisir plutôt que tout publier d'un coup et savoir que peu de gens les verront toutes.
En cette période de Nouvelle Année 2023, je tiens cependant à préciser que cette averse de neige risque fort d'être la première et la dernière de l'hiver 2022 - 2023.
Au moins je l'aurai immortalisée !

Cependant cela ne doit pas nous faire oublier que, une semaine ou trois mois, travailler dans le froid et sous la neige n'est une bonne nouvelle que pour les privilégiés que les photographes sont. :-)
