Taken in Częstochowa Cathedral during renovation work. The altar was screened off with scaffolding and sheeting, on which the shadows of the workers behind could fleetingly be seen. This image is a montage of 3 shots as one person moved across a walkway.

Bees are flying insects closely related to wasps and ants, and are known for their roles of producing honey and beeswax and pollination. Bees are a monophyletic lineage within the superfamily Apoidea, presently classified by the unranked taxon name Anthophila. There are nearly 20,000 known species of bees in nine recognized families, though many are undescribed and the actual number is probably higher. They are found on every continent except Antarctica, in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants.

Extreme cold steam working as the temperature plummeted to -40C at the Jalainur opencast coal mine. SY1193 and SY0471 bring the morning workers' train out of the pit. I don't think that the rear loco was doing much work.

To make a break from my landscape posts I thought I'd try my hand at a little macro wildlife.

Dynamic doesn't quite describe how different Seoul is from day to day -- almost hour to hour. Things tend to get a bit crowded here with all the construction going on. It's a wonder how many businesses can fit, let alone survive.
