On 30th June, DSRSG Reske-Nielsen undertook a 1 day visit to Oecussi, accompanied by the EU Ambassador to Timor-Leste, the Minister of Agriculture, a representative of the Minister of Agriculture, and representatives from WFP, UNDP, FAO, and UNOPS. The objective of the visit was to visit with the delegation some successful rural-development initiatives implemented by the UN agencies in Oecussi, particularly the self-help group approach and the community development fund activities. The visit also aimed to jointly explore potential activities for the UN’s rural development portfolio during the next programme cycle, as well as partnership opportunities with the EU and the Government of Timor-Leste. During the mission, the delegation met with Oecussi authorities and civil society, and visited a renewable energy biogas project (UNDP support), a women's self-help group for vegetable farming and savings (UNDP/UNOPS support), a water supply project (UNDP/UNOPS support) , and a road rehabilitation project supported by WFP through the food for work approach. The DSRSG also held a Town-Hall meeting with staff from the agencies and UNMIT, where he briefed staff on mission priorities as per the current mandate and discussed the efforts underway to promote integration between the agencies and the mission.
It's always good fun having new collegues around. they bring a breath of fresh air in the office. pleuni has been collecting funny quotes every day now. Todat we had a grand total of 15! I think it's hilarious, but some are probably not funny when you don't have a clue what they are about. Anyhow, 5 quotes are mine, can you guess which ones?

Nothing special photography wise, just an iPhone snapshot for those residing in the northern realms to show how we do a summer Christmas. Not so much candles here, still bright twilight at 8pm and that sea breeze would make short work of any little flame on your candle.
Old ATSF 500 class B40-8Ws are definately not common material on the Thayer North Sub these days. Thank goodness for MofW projects! BNSF 521 doesn't look too bad leading a U-WSGCAK empty ballast train towards Springfield. I believe the ballast comes out of a quarry at Clark, OK.

That is not exactly how I run a business, but sure I can appreciate the coincidence right before Christmas and a brand new year, specially that expanding my business is now the main focus in my life.
I found it last week in a very low budget chinese restaurant in downtown Vancouver. Please do not ask me how I ended up there, it was mostly peer pressure.
My new website www.rmdstudio.com is 99% ready and will be launched very soon.
