What sort of winter does the fuzzy one predict?

Cromwell just a we were leaving to spent a night at Arrowtown. April 28, 2016 Central Otago in the South Island of New Zealand.

Located deep in the heart of Central Otago in the valley of Upper Clutha, Cromwell is a special place not to be missed. From rugged to rolling hills, two great rivers and the sparking pristine waters of Lake Dunstan - the natural beauty of the area is overwhelming.

The Cromwell basin is home to a host of award-winning wineries; enjoy the scenery while enjoying some the worlds finest Central Otago Pinot Noir. The area also has a rich heritage past with remnants of goldfields that will take you on a journey of the past. Be sure to take a wander down to the historic Cromwell Heritage Precinct for a selection of boutique shops, art galleries and cosy cafes.

Situated on the shore of Lake Dunstan it is an idyllic location for swimming, fishing, boating and water sports in summer. In winter, there are five fantastic skifields all within comfortable driving distances. It is also home to the famous Highland's Motorsport Park, a popular visitor attraction with activities for the whole family.

Cromwell's central location makes it an excellent base for exploring the wider Central Otago area, allowing for easy day trips to nearby towns such as Queenstown, Arrowtown, Wanaka and Clyde.

we took the boys up to the firehouse to check out the new pumper and have a looksy at the relic they were using as their "spare," which is now for sale. my husband-child has a sweet little fantasy of owning his own big boy fire engine. i have a fantasy of not having a huge ass fire engine in the driveway.

Well, a wooly bison, in the nice early morning light..... I stayed in the car to get this one..a bit too close for comfort otherwise.

Anyone know what breed of cow this is?

I heard bits of a news item this weekend saying that scientists can now feasibly clone a Wooly Mammoth from fossil DNA and a regular elephant.

All very Jurassic Park, which links to this photo of a particularly wooly cow along the Jurassic Coast of Dorset.

And it further reminds me of Dolly the sheep - the first animal (or so we're told) to be cloned. Who knows what breed of sheep Dolly was?

She was a Dorset Finn.

Palmerston Norths boulders have been given a face lift. A Wooly Riot arrived and added a little colour to the grey. Nice one!

So glad its Friday! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Yes, the woolies exist in more than just Wyoming :-) In fact, I've never seen so many sheep as I did in Ireland. And I've certainly never had to hike through pastures of them to reach my destination. This particular sheep was found along the trail to Carrauntoohil, which is the highest peak in Ireland. At this point I was almost back to the car, far behind my fellow hikers, and my feet and knees were crying out to be done. But the tapestry of greens against the stormy sky demanded that I shoulder the Hasselblad for just a few more images.

Yay! I get a tax refund! I am going to be buying art show panels and hopefully getting my butt into at least a couple smaller shows till I build up my work a little better. SOOOO excited!

These turn into the prettiest moths - but they really maul your Oleanders.
