The Wired app for iPad is very impressive; it's smooth and responsive when flipping pages or jumping to arbitrary sections, and there's plenty of unobtrusive interactivity (like swiping left/right to progessively assemble or disassemble the Lego Lamborghini in this screenshot, an animated Mars missions graphic, audio clips, videos and even a spinning, animating Iron Man and War Machine).
They've also taken the time to properly support both portrait and landscape orientations natively; look at how the page elements have completely reflowed. It's a very high-quality production indeed, and shows both what the iPad is capable of and where magazines are hopefully headed in the future.
I still have no idea whether it will use in-app purchase for future issues, or whether you'll have to download a new standalone app for each issue. The current one is just called "Wired", with no issue-number or such. I do hope they support in-app purchase, to avoid cluttering the iPad's home screen.
Shot at the Portomaggiore (Ferrara, Italy) train station with a Lomo Lubitel2 6x6 medium format camera loaded with a roll of Kodak Portra 160, metered with a compact digital camera.
These wires have recently appeared on a nearby commercial building. Any have any idea what they're for? My only guess is to keep birds off the ledge.

Great for hanging up pictures to dry, art exhibitions or drapping with fabric to make smaller rooms or dens.
Wire sculpture lady, Reedy Creek, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Finally found the sculpture, I've looked for it before, but couldn't find it (Southern Skies Avenue). I was short of time & need to go back another time, maybe when the sun's going down.
Inside the cockpit of an old Piper airplane. The frost on the window made for a nice effect. Taken in my college town of Lock Haven, PA. See the set for more information.
