A lonely light in the forests of the bavarian forest.
Gently glittering evening light streaks snow cover, the trees.
They are old trees.
They stand in lonely secluded surroundings.
The way to these places is difficult.
Long the ascent continues there.
You do not know what to expect.
One hopes to experience a winter magic.

Winter is beautiful but very cold here and it lasts so long.
When snow and ice are fading from the Canadian Rockies, I am fortunate to capture the last winter scene, cool and quiet, which seems to bring a lonely mood to any visitors. Even though the sun is still bright, the clouds are still dramatic, winter is absolutely leaving us.

Last weekend we were technically still in summer even though it was November. This week, we've clearly hit winter. At least for now.

Winter is slowly arriving in Germany! Fingers crossed for some beautiful snow conditions as we had last winter, like in this photo I took in Wernigerode in January 2021.
