Winter walk at Niagara Falls

What kind of person goes out with their macro lens to take some winter umbellifer photos in hurricane-force winds? Me!! Well the wild carrot was blowing about completely out of control, but I was unusually well-organised and had another lens with me so managed to get a few landscapes instead, I love the trees at this time of year.

As well as the wind it was very muddy so there was hardly anyone else about, but I spotted this dog-walker on the opposite bank....dogs don't care do they :)

Wishing everyone a great week ahead :)

The Winter Garden Atrium is a 10-story glass-vaulted pavilion on Vesey Street in New York City's Brookfield Place office complex. Designed by Diana Balmori, the Atrium was originally constructed in 1988, and substantially rebuilt in 2002, the Atrium houses various plants, trees and flowers, and shops. The rear of the building opens onto the World Financial Center Plaza and the North Cove Yacht Harbor on the Hudson River.

Winter finally arrived. Gotland Jan-17

It wasn't cold enough to keep me inside. I bundled up and sat on the porch watching the infrequent lone beach walker with companion dog along for company. I love the beach in the winter time; deserted, untouched by footprints, and unobstructed views.

Greetings Winter....2 degrees in Broken Arrow at this time...windchill -21, Winter is in full swing, glad I left the ivy for the birds to shelter under with some seed. No one is touching the feeders today, a couple of sparrows tried it but. Noon on the 22 of December 2022.

Enjoy the beauty of the winter!

This is a photo from Toronto Island, taken in 2005.

This is one of the very first photos I took with a digital camera, it was a Samsung with only 3.2 Megapixels!

The other day Robert said he wanted to do Whitney again. But at 14,505' (4,421 m) not sure that will happen. In any case, it had me going back to this road trip we did in January, 2011. We actually climbed it in Sept, 2003. The first day we backpacked up to 12K' and then climbed to the summit the next morning. I'll never forget that day. We got up just before dawn and could see the lights of others who were already on their way to the Crest. As we scurried about getting ready to join them, the eastern sun suddenly lit up the mountain like this, and everyone there (including ourselves) just stopped in their tracks to watch the glory of it all.

Winter Wonderland

Yesterday was my first chance to get out and experience some of the heavy snow that has fallen over the past week over most of Scotland. This is from near the village of Leadhills in South Lanarkshire and a beautiful snow drift with its amazing lines, complimented by the sky and the little lone tree to complete the image.

I have to say that this could possibly be my favourite image that I have made in a very long while.

Sorry I've not been posting much, I've just not had the time to get out with my camera. I did manage out at sunset last night and snapped this. I liked how everything appeared orange despite the fact that ot was bitterly cold.

WINTER❄️

It was a short period that we had snow. But it was fun to shoot this winter wonderland❄️

This is a panorama of 1 picture. I wanted to show you the beautiful trees a bit better and not only a big field of snow❄️
