Are you guys sick of my kid yet? lol
We went to where I work for our little shoot today. It's strange that we have no actual snow yet. . . I am pretty sure we wont be having a white Christmas this year lol. Although I really home we get snow, and a lot of it.
Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays :)
See ya around.

A quick overview of the gear I carry (sans food and water) for solo overnight trips in the winter. I was planning on low temps being in the high single digits at night. This trip in particular was a weekend trip to the Pear Lake area in Sequoia.

Winter jonquils in the afternoon. One of those wintry days when the cold bites right through you in the shade... but in the sun, it's 1969 again...

Tall frosted weeds along a country lane catch the morning rays of the sun cresting over the trees on a frigid December morning. The mix of light and colors from the deep icy shadows to dawn's golden hues was so beautiful. Taken outside Tomahawk, Wisconsin off County Road H. (Best viewed large.)

My friend decided to do some winter swimming while we were spending weekend at his cabin. As I hate cold, I decided to take some photos instead.
Not my favorite landscape. I'm uploading this because I learned a new technique (I think) in photoshop.
I bought a digital photography magazine to read on the flight home. I purchased the magazine mainly because it had a review of a camera I'm interested in. While reading it I noticed it had a tutorial on using gradient filters in photoshop. I've always liked the effect, but never really thought I'd use it enough to justify buying a $150 filter.
I overdid the effect a bit on purpose to really see what this effect can do. Let me know what you think. I see some real possibilities for artistic use of this processing effect.
Oh, also, I think this is my first landscape with my telephoto lens =)
